"Friends are like stars- you can’t always see them, but you know they’re there.”
-AnonymousAs she arrived at AlienWay Station to flee to Cozmos, Milk had noticed that every Goddess and God there was chattering with their friends excitedly and howling with fits of giggling and laughter. ‘Lo-o-ok! It’s Demon-Girl!’ Milk heard somebody sing as several others snorted. Her eyes filled with tears and she quickly swiped her eyelashes with her worn sleeves. Milk strut sadly to an empty spot, stood and then peered at the ground in attempts to ignore the amused whispers and strange looks.
Suddenly, a young God with flaming hair and a bow with arrows ambled in front of her alongside a Goddess with a glowing halo and hula-hoops around her waist adorned with a traditional English attire.“What, are you going to taunt me?!” Milk snapped at them hastily. Both looked taken back about what she had spoken.
“Er,no- you looked lonely. My sister and I were wondering if you wanted to sit with us on the express.” The friendly fire-haired boy said slowly with a hint of caution in his voice.
“Uh- you are joking, aren’t you?” Milk muttered depressingly. “I get pranks like that all the time. It isn’t funny, you know.”
“Well, of course not!” He smiled as his sister glanced at her curiously. “We’re really sorry you get teased. What’s your name?” He asked politely.
“Milk Universe. Goddess of the Milky Way. Princess of the Cosmos. Nice to meet you... “ She stuttered, startled by the sudden affection.
“I’m Likada Volcanico. King of the Stars, God of the Sun!” He replied proudly. “I’m attending second year, there at Cozmos!”
“Me too. I’m in second year as well.” Milk agreed.
“I’m Saturn Volcanico. Goddess of….well, Saturn.” Likada’s sister, Saturn, beamed. Her thick British accent impacted her speech to where Milk could just barely understand her. A sharp whistle interrupted their conversation as a deep voice bounced throughout the walls of the station. “All aboard! Headed straight for The Cozmos Institution- students seated immediately!”
Milk recognized this voice as her university’s headmaster, Amity Astrid, better known as Mrs. Astrid. Austere, yet wise and kind, she made sure the whole school was in tact.
“Let’s go grab some seats.” Saturn said as they lifted their luggage up the steps and into the musty train.
The interior was primitive and antique-styled. The floorboards rasped as they stepped gingerly throughout. The trio discovered an empty express compartment complemented with old rustic seats. Elevator music echoed into the small range.
Likada realized that there was a young brown-haired girl situated in the corner as a succulent on the windowsill wilted and perished into gray ashes. Her deep green eyes complemented her ocean blue dress, which was adorned with jade leaves. “What is your name?” questioned Saturn hastily.
“Tsunamae Nature,” she said in a wistful, isolated tone, “Goddess of Natural Disasters.” Milk decided to accommodate the vacant chair next to her and disregard the deceased, crippled leaves of the colorful plant that she was holding in her hands.
“Will it be okay if we can sit here with you,Tsunamae?“ Milk asked courteously using a soft and gentle tone. She nodded with no hesitation.
