Chapter 21.5.1: 'Sweet' Date

"C-can we...stop to a place before going home?"

I looked at Nagi expectantly, wishing that he will say yes. And fortunately, he gave me that sweet smile again.

"Sure! Where do you want to go?"

"Oh! It's just that I saw a new jewelry shop nearby and was thinking of exploring it." I said and scratched my chin a bit. He hummed and nodded, which I mentally cheered to.

"Great! Let's go!"

"Welcome! Please take a look around!" I ignored the smiling sales lady-like woman when we entered the store and swiftly scanned the area. Secretly glancing down, I saw my blueberry curiously looking around with an 'o'-shaped mouth.

Hehe, how cute.

"Then, Nagisa-kun, I'll just look over there for a bit. You can stroll around if you like." I said and pointed at a random corner. He just nodded absentmindedly and started to walk over the area with necklaces and pendants.

So that's what he likes, huh.

I pretended to walk over to the corner while glancing at his direction, noting the pendants that he checks out. Finally, I saw him stop infront of a pendant with something like a red stone in it. It wasn't that fancy, but pretty simple. Typical Nagisa.

I then went to his position and looked over.

"Do you want that?"

Nagisa jumped up in surprise and hastily turned back. He whipped his head to the other direction and bit his lips before shaking his head.

"N-no. I just thought that it's pretty...or something." He mumbled. I just raised an eyebrow and 'let it off'.

"Okay then. You can wait outside for me. I'll just buy something for a second." I said and smiled. He nodded and took a 'secret' glance on he pendant. Pfft. Talk about 'doesn't want it'.

When I came out of the shop, I saw him patiently waiting outside while looking at a tree. On top of a branch, I saw a nest with birds chirping in it. I went to his direction and shoved my hands to my pockets.

"Do you want that?" I asked, which made him turn his head to me in surprise.

"What? No! Silly, I just think that they are cute." See, that's the difference between him wanting it or not.

As I thought, he's adorable.

"Haha, yeah yeah. Let's go then, I got what I need." I said and started to walk. He bid his farewell to the birds and jogged back to my side.

"By the way, Karma-kun, what did you buy?" Nagisa curiously asked as he tried to look for the paper bag but pouted when he saw nothing.

"Nah, just a necklace. I kinda took a liking to it so I bought it." I answered and glanced at him. He only hummed and nodded his head.

"Well then, see you Nagisa-kun. Thanks for coming with me." Karma-kun said and waved after we got off the train. I also waved back and walked to the opposite direction towards my home.

"Mom, I'm home!" I called out as I began taking off my shoes. I heard some clattering coming from the kitchen and immediately knew she was preparing dinner. After a bit, she peeked out and smiled at me.

"Welcome back Nagisa. What took you so long?" She asked while giving me a questioning look. I just shrugged as I entered.

"I accompanied a friend of mine. He bought something." She just raised an eyebrow and returned back to cooking.
