Chapter 6

You walk up to Nat, who is sitting on the bench you were previously.

"Thank you," She says as you sit next to her.

"As an avenger, it's my duty to protect everyone. You know that, and you know that's why I didn't sign," you say as you lean back.

"I know speedy, I know," she says as she puts an arm around you.

"You know they suspect that Bucky did this," Tasha says, perking your interest.

"Bucky, Barnes? As in the winter soldier?" You question. She nods subtly.

"Does T'Challa know?" You ask with fear. She sighs and nods, yet again.

You look around for him and see him walking across the street. He turns his head towards you and smirks, then a bus goes by.

You stand up quickly, you needed to catch him before it was too late.

As soon as the bus passed, you looked for where he was previously, but he was gone.

"Shit," you mutter as Tasha snickers. You playful glare at her, then your phone buzzes. You pull it out quickly and check it.

It was a text from Steve. 'Don't make it obvious, but the tree to your right,' the text read. You nodded subtly and turn to Tasha.

"Hey I got to go, I'll text or something later," you say as you take off somewhere.

She chuckles as she waves at you. You run around a bit before stopping by Steve, who was wearing a cap and dark sunglasses.

He handed you a pair of the same thing and you slipped them on as he called Tasha.

"Yeah?" She picks up.

"You alright?" He asks as you hide behind the tree with him.

"Ah, yeah, thanks. I got lucky," she says as she looks around. She stands up, looking for Steve.

"I know how much Barnes means to you. I really do. Stay home. You'll only make this worse. For all of us. Please," Tasha pleads.

"You saying you'll arrest us?" Steve asks. You mentally face palm, knowing he made a mistake.

"Us? You and Y/n? No, but someone will. If you interfere. That's how it works now," Tashsa says as she still looks around for you and Steve.

"If he's this far gone, Nat, we should be the ones to bring him in," Steve says as he kicks the grass on the ground.

"Why?" She asks as Steve motions for you to walk with him.

"Because were the one least likely to die trying," Steve says as he hangs up the phone. You follow Steve to a coffee shop counter, where Sam sat.

"She tell you to stay out of it? Might have a point," Sam says as he notices your with him.

"You going to? Shit man we have a team," Sam says as you snicker.

"But anyways, he'd do it for me," Steve says as he stands next to Sam.

"1945, maybe. I just want to make sure we considered all our options. The people that shoot at you usually wind up shooting at me," Sam says as he takes a sip of his coffee. Then a car pulled up next to you three.

"Tips have been pouring in since that footage went public. Everybody thinks the Winter soldier goes to their gym. Most of it's noise. Except for this," she says as she hands Steve a paper.

"My boss expects a briefing, pretty much now... so that's all the head start you're gonna get," Sharon says as she smiles at Steve.

"Thank you," He replies as he looks at the papers.

"And you're gonna have to hurry. We have orders to shoot on sight," she says as she rolls up her window and takes off.

Steve turns around and hands you the papers.

"Let's go," He says as you nod.
Time Skip-

Your jet landed in Bucharest, where you suspect Bucky is at.

You and Steve sneak into his apartment room, luckily he wasn't there yet. Steve wore his usual Captain America outfit with his righteous shield.

You, on the other hand, had a different suit. It was similar to Pietro's, only the shirt was cut into a crop top (pic above) pairing with a combat mask that covered your nose and mouth, still keeping your identity a little secure.

You walked around the small, dingy apartment looking at random things. Steve walked towards the refrigerator.

"Smart thinking, maybe he has a lot of food," you say sarcastically as you stand by Steve.

He couldn't help but show a small smile.

He picked up the journal on the top of the metal container. It had tabs on the pages, marking important information.

Then you hear the door knob jingle. You run and hide beside the door, so when he opens the door you'd be hidden.

When he opens the door, he immediately sees Steve and not yet noticing you.

He left the door open as he walked forward. You closed it behind him, making him look at you too. He noticed he's in between the two of you, he couldn't do anything.

'Heads up Rogers'. German Special Forces, approaching from the south,' Sam said through your and Steve's com.

"Got it," you whisper as you cross your arms.

"Do you know me?" Steve asks as he looks at Bucky.

"You're Steve. I read about you in a museum. And you, your Y/n, Steve's granddaughter and meta human," he says as he glances at you.

You nod as you look at Bucky, the person that tried to kill you.

'They've set the perimeter,' Sam updates, neither do you say anything.

"I know you're nervous. And you have plenty of reason to be. But you're lying," Steve says as he takes a step forwards, you advancing with him.

"I wasn't in Vienna. I don't do that anymore," Bucky says as he glances at you.

'They're entering the building,' Sam says again.

"Well, the people who think you did are coming here now," Steve says.

"And I don't think they plan on taking you alive," you add.

"That's smart. Good strategy," Bucky says.

'They're on the roof. I'm compromised,' Sams says again. You hear the steps of the armed cops coming up the stairs.

"This doesn't have end in a fight, Buck," Steve says as you turn towards the door.

"It always ends in a fight," he shoots back.

'5 seconds,' Sam warns.

"You pulled me from the river. Why?" Steve asks, quickly.

"I don't know," Bucky relies.

'3 seconds,' Sam yells.

"Yes you do!" Steve argues.

'Breach breach breach!!' Sam yells as a grenade gets thrown into the window.

You quickly run, pick it up, and throw it back out. Bucky quickly grabs a table and blocks the door, while a police man came through the window that was busted.

Steve pulled the rug out from under the man, making him fall. You send a punch to the mans face, knocking him out immediately.

While doing so, Bucky slammed another police man into the wall harshly.

"Bucky stop!" You exclaim as you touch his non metallic arm. He tenses at your touch, then relaxes.

"Don't kill anyone," you whisper before running off to fight some more.

Let's hope you got to him...
