Chapter Twenty Five

*bip bip*

As if I need an alarm to wake up after last night.

I couldn't sleep at all. Not even a blink. I cried for most of the night and I felt so guilty for sleeping on Lee's bed while he was on the floor.

I throw the duvet off my body and make my way to the bathroom. Today is Sunday so I've got to get ready for church.

I'm going to pray so hard about this, God is about to get hella annoyed.

After my much needed bath I got dressed for church.

I put on some foundation and  concealer underneath my eyes and on the spot 'you know who' slapped me last night. I tie my hair into a low bun.

I wore a burgandy maroon short sleeve wrap dress that went two inches below my knees.

I paired the dress with black strappy heels with a closed toe.

I walk over to my side of the closet and grab my black hand bag. I put in some lip gloss, hand lotion, hand sanitiser, some mints and my Bible and note pad.

Before I go out of the room I take out a suit for Lee to wear to church as well and write a note telling him where I'm going to church and the address of the church if he wants to come with.

I go to the kitchen and grab a  granola bar, before leaving.

After the church service I make my way to the parking lot. But along the way I'm greeted by Paige.

"Paige, oh my gosh it's been a while." I say excitedly and lean in to hug my best friend or only friend.

"Yeah, well you've been the busy one not replying to texts and missing church for the past few weeks." Paige says giving me a squeeze before letting go.

"Well I mean, I've been busy, like really busy I don't even know where my phone is right now." I say looking at her baby bump.

"Can I touch her?" I ask like a kid asking for ice cream.

"You can touch but you better not get too attached." Paige knows how much I'm obsessed with babies and I threatened to kidnap her baby once she's born so yeah.

I bend over to touch the bump.

"Oh my gosh aren't you getting bigger every single time I blink?" I say in my baby voice as if the infant can even hear me.

"I think I know why you've been busy by the way." Paige says with a knowing smile.

I stand up and give her a quizzical look.

"look behind you by your car." She says pointing behind me.

I trun around and I see Lee leaning against my car looking through his phone with his Bible in the other hand.

"Wait he came to church?" I ask turning back to Paige who's long gone.

I walk over to Lee who's already looking at me as I approach.

"Hey." I say looking at my heels not wanting to meet his eyes.

"Hey, uhm do you want to maybe make a stop for lunch before heading back home?" Lee asks scratching the back of his neck.

"yeah sure, but I'm not driving." I say with a bit of forced humor laced to my voice.

"I don't mind babe." He reaches for my bag and opens my door for me then putting my bag in the back seat.
