"The bitch is crazy" Summer said over all of the screams and family ducking winter who still had the gun cocked and pointed. Bricks stood up and grabbed the gun from her hand shaking his head.
Winter still stood there froze, all she seen was her man down on one knee and he couldn't have been proposing to her. She was unsure of what to do as she watched him kneel again holding the ring out for her to see. The tears had started to fall as she brung her hands to her face, she listened to him propose to her and in so many words he told her that she was the wish of his life. He didn't know how else to say it. He didn't even know that he could really explain, just that every time he saw her he felt his bones might break under the weight of his wanting. His longing for her. His love for her was deep, and what better way to prove that then marrying the mother of his child? The love of his life.
"I ask you to pass through life at my side" Bricks smiled up watching his woman break in front of him from him expressing his love to her. "You know I'm not this mushy but I said all of that to ask you" He paused taking a deep breath. "Will you marry me Winter?" He bit his lip awaiting for her answer.
"Of course!" Winter broke down while her finger was trembling seeing Bricks place the ring on. "I love you so much" She hugged bricks tightly, and pecked his lips.
Everyone cheered and clapped, congratulating the two. The smile on Bricks face made his cheeks hurt. He had the woman of his dreams, and despite anything he had ever done she loved him and stayed by his side through it all. Although he'd only cheated once it still fucked him up to see her that hurt and he vowed to never hurt her like that again when she gave him another chance. He wanted to be a better man for her and his daughter, he wanted to be the man she deserved. Him proposing was from his heart, not because she was pregnant or he'd figured she wanted it. He wanted to marry her because he knew they belonged together, he knew he would never lose her again and he'd made sure they both were ready for this.
Summer walked to winter and hugged her. The pain in her legs were now bearable although they still hurt, and she'd been avoiding Jerome since he'd showed up because he kept giving her that look and she had enough dick to last her the week.
"I'm so happy for you" She admired the ring Bricks had went all out on. "You could have picked a better man to be your husband but...." Summer shrugged and Bricks sucked his teeth.
"And you could of picked any nigga to open your legs for." He mumbled but Summer had beard him loud and clear. "But it had to be the enemy." He finished off sipping some of his drink watching his family and friends eat and enjoy the engagement party.
Winter sighed. "Not today, we just got engaged. Summer you didn't have to start with him. You could of left it at congrats." She pointed out. "And Peyton you're older than her so you could be the bigger person knowing she's childish, and stop throwing that up in her face. I'm not gone be in y'all bullshit." Winter stated before her dad pulled her away to speak with her.
Summer and bricks stood there with their arms folded like big kids who'd just gotten in trouble by their parents. "I'm sorry." Bricks mumbled.
"I couldn't hear you?" Summer tucked her hair behind her ear and stepped closer holding her hand to her ear to make sure she'd heard him correctly.
Bricks sucked his teeth. "I said I'm sorry alright? I could have came at you different and talked to you instead of at you."
"Mhm." Summer nodded. "I'm sorry too" She tried to hide her smile when he pulled her into a hug.
"Man sis, I missed you on some real ass nigga shit." They laughed. "If you hadn't talked to me today I was snatching that wig off ya shit on the hood." Summer cackled because she knew he was serious, he stayed snatching Winters wigs off when she'd piss him off.
