The sky came alive with
violent starbursts raining down
above our fragile heads,
we watched the lights with their
illuminated tails as they fell silently
to the ground.
You looked as celestial as the meteors
while your eyes reflected the glowing night sky
and I felt myself defying the stars
so I'd be able to reach you.
