Medication

Mike and Lynne have left and now the girls are alone. Christina was dragged downstairs by Lauren and Dani to take some toys out. Amy wonders why they had Christina do it instead of Katherine, Katherine was taller anyway.

Lisa was observing Christina play with the kids and Katherine was reading a book. Amy didn't really know what to do so she decided to find a coloring book or something she could use. She doesn't know where they would be though so she anxiously asks Lisa.

"Coloring books? Umm... We might have some in the playroom in the attic. I can go get them in a little bit but, we have to do medications soon. Can you wait?" The anxiety that is on Lisa's face when she asks Amy to wait is very evident but, Amy surprises her and just nods slowly.

Suddenly an ear piercing scream makes Lisa flinch and everyone to search for the source of the noise.

It was Lauren she was screaming while Dani just looked really nervously between the extremely tense and uncomfortable Christina to Lauren who was breaking down.

Christina quickly grabs Lauren and rushes her upstairs the screams still continue until they slowly die down.

Lisa gets up and grabs a large basket of bottles, syringes, and pill pockets and Katherine ushers Dani to help her clean up the toys. Amy feels so uncomfortable that they are just going about their day even though one of their sisters just had a meltdown.

Christina eventually comes back down, Lauren wrapped in blankets with massive headphones on, the tear tracks evident on her face. Lauren is sitting on Christina's hip like she was Christina's daughter and Christina looks very nervous. Katherine breaks the ice.

"Is Laur ok? What happened?"

Christina takes a deep breath before speaking gently, "Sensory overload, we also weren't on schedule, today's supposed to be a school day... Not a 'weekend'. She'll be fine... Just a little sensitive. Has her noise canceling headphones. Should have noticed her stimming..."

Lisa nods in agreement but she also pipes in. "Glad Lauren's good we have to take medications now, and Chris? Don't worry about it. No one else noticed her stimming either and was watching you all. Alright?"

Christina doesn't look convinced that it isn't her fault but comes over and sits down, Lauren on her lap. Amy is sitting on one of the couches, waiting for the inevitable shot of growth hormones.

"Alright, who's doing meds first?"

No one responds to Lisa's statement and they just refuse eye contact. Christina especially, opting to instead kiss Lauren's head gently. Amy decides to speak up.

"I c-can go first." Lisa nods. Alright, you are growth hormones, ADHD, this PICA stuff, and... PTSD?"

"Yup... Sorry about the amount of things I have to take..." Amy sounds uncomfortable because she was extremely nervous about the shot. She hated that part of her medications.

Lisa chuckles, "Don't worry about it, you actually don't have that many medications." Lisa then picks up a sticky note on and begins measuring everything out. She grabs a small cup and a few pills.

"Here, take these and swallow. Christina will have to do the shot next because she knows where that goes."

Amy wonders how Christina could possibly know which vein to put the syringe in if she has never even met Amy, but swallows the pills and sticks out her bare leg nonetheless. Christina silently hand Lauren to Katherine and takes the syringe. Amy grips a pillow tightly as she takes a deep breath.

Christina somehow finds the exact right spot and the syringe prices Amy's skin. Amy has tears slowly falling down her face waiting for it to just be over. Christina lets out a breath and the shot is over. Katherine whistles sharply and the dog from dinner rushes in and jumps up onto Amy licking her tears away.
