Stressed

Dani was stressed and worried while holding a whimpering Lauren, who was stimming with her plastic tangle toy.

She didn't know what had happened to any of her older sisters and Mommy and Daddy wasn't there either.

Did they abandon her again?

Had she don't something wrong again. She didn't think so...

Dani was racking her brain trying to figure out what she could have possibly done to make them all leave her... and why would they leave her with Lauren. She didn't know how to handle these things and, she especially didn't know how to handle Lauren.

With as immature as Dani was, and as young as she was, these worries were not common. However, when she was a baby she was abandoned. Then she was taken to social services by a nice couple. Social services had taken her in and within a few weeks, she was with another family.

Dani doesn't remember her foster parents but, they quickly abandoned her. She had never really had that emotional attachment to anyone and was very starved of affection. Dani didn't quite understand that but, she understood that she wanted to love.

Lauren was becoming increasingly distressed and Dani didn't know how to help. She had heard some things upstairs before... Maybe she should check it out? She didn't want to leave Laur behind though.

Dani didn't have the best comprehension but, she understood that even though Lauren was older than her, Laur was different. Laur wasn't as 'smart' as Dani was and Dani knew that Laur was getting extra help in school, while Dani was already REALLY good at the things mommy and daddy want from her. Even going as far as to tell them cool stories so, she didn't really understand why no one was with her or Lauren and, it was starting to exceedingly stress Dani out.

How was she supposed to handle Laur on her own?

Dani decides to take action and speak up. Even if she does not have the best pronunciation

"Lawen... come wit me upstaws? Pwease?"

Lauren, however, does not seem to take kindly toward the direction and throws the tangle toy toward Dani. It,, thankfully, does not hit Dani.

"NO!"

Dani whimpers and flinches but decides to remain calm.

"Pwease... wanna find chwissy, Wisa, Kafy, an Amy. I am hungwy."

Dani makes up an excuse so that Laureen hopefully follows her but, Laur screams at her again, flailing around her limbs.

"No. No. NO. NO! NOO!!!"

Dani quickly runs away from the 6-year-old to the stairs. She was still slow at climbing them but, she needed someone to calm sissy down and if she couldn't find anyone downstairs, her last hope was someone being upstairs. She was praying that no one abandoned her again.

Lauren's screaming echos through the home and soon it becomes sobbing.

Amy awakens to the noise and is very concerned. Why was there screaming? Was someone being hurt? Should she try to help them?

Amy decides not to,  thinking that she would rather be safe and neglected than get hurt trying to save someone she barely knew.

Amy then realizes where she is. She is on her bed. How did she get here?

She remembers having some sort of freak out thing (She didn't know that it was a panic attack), someone speaking a different language, and then passing out on the rug in this room. She sees the puppy, awake as it licks her face. Amy smiles at the small puppies affection and stokes the dog's fur.
