Born and raised in Virginia, Lucy lived with her parents, until her father died in a car crash when she was seven years old. After the death of her father, her mother started working a lot more, since they did not have much money. With her mother working all the time, Lucy became very independent, and matured much quicker than the rest of her classmates. She also started to study hard, and got accepted to college as a business major.

Then the apocalypse started. Lucy was with her friends for the first couple months, before they all perished. She was on her own — and she had a hard time trusting anyone, since one of her friends was murdered by two other survivors. For months, she was on her own, and travelled to Georgia, where her mother's sister lived. When she reached Georgia, Lucy went to her aunt's house, but did not find her. Since she had nowhere else to go, she remained in Georgia.

A couple months later, she was on the verge of death. It was hard to find food, and trying to survive on her own was very difficult. Lucy ended up finding a community called Terminus — and even though she was very skeptical of them, she eventually trusted them and decided to stay there. They fed her, and they took care of her. Lucy truly believes she would have died if it wasn't for them.

She remained in Terminus, and everyone there eventually became her family — and she even fell in love with the leader, Gareth. However, her paradise was ruined when a group of people arrived and took over their sanctuary. They forced the Terminus civilians into train carts, and they raped and beat and killed them. After weeks of torture, what was left of the Terminus civilians broke out and killed them all (except for their leader, whom they locked up in a train cart), and took back over their home. However, they were no longer good people. They decided that in this world, one is either a butcher or the cattle — and they became butchers. Literally.
