☾unavngivet - four ☼Mark had been out grocery shopping. He wanted some fresh air and thought the twelve-kilometer long bike ride was enough. It was a long distance to ride in the burning sun but Mark was used to it. His parents and sister were out in the city and would come home late. Mark wanted to be alone today so he decided to not tag along.
The groceries jiggled in the bicycle basket, an old blanket under them.
Mark sped up his pace as he wanted to experience the exciting feeling of breath hitching and blood pumping. It made him feel like he was in one of his own imaginary stories, free and happy. He was one kilometer away from his house and he had only seen three cars on his way back. It was calm and he didn't need to worry about getting run down.
As he grabbed his water bottle and sipped some of the water he saw something sitting in the middle of the road. It was really far away and he immediately thought it was just an animal. But as he got closer the animal started looking rather weird.
It started looking like a person.
It was a person!
A boy with no clothes on his body sat so fragile and confused in the middle of the freaking road. His face was soft and his hair was fluffy and brown, almost the same color as his beautiful tan skin.
He looked like an angel sent from heaven how the sunlight fell so perfectly on him.
Mark stopped his bike at the moment his breath faded away. He got off of it and placed it at the side road. He stared at the boy for some time before gulping and making his way over to him cautiously, making sure he wouldn't scare the boy away.
The boy was simply breathtaking how innocent and perfect he looked. He had definitely heard Mark because as soon as the older started making his way towards him, he turned around and they shared an intense stare.
Mark tensed and stopped for a second before making his way completely over to the boy who followed Mark's every move with his glistening eyes.
He crouched down in front of the boy and tried keeping his gaze on the latter's face. The boy was dead naked and he didn't want to seem like a pervert. He wondered if the boy was lost or maybe even drunk. The last seemed pretty unlikely as there was literally nothing around them other than crops and trees.
"You shouldn't sit out in the middle of the road," Mark spoke softly, taking in the boy's angelic features. "The cars drive really fast out here and you could get kidnapped," he added. The soft boy tilted his head to the side before glancing around him.
"Where am I?" he asked which caused a chain reaction of feelings to rush through Mark. The boy wasn't only angelic by the looks, his voice was taken straight from heaven as well. It made Mark's ears tingle and turn red. But he quickly forgot all of that as he caught onto what the boy said.
"You don't know where you are?"
The boy shook his head. "One moment I was somewhere, then suddenly I was sitting here," he mumbled confusedly.
Mark took in the information. "Somewhere?" he asked. "Where were you before you were here?"
The boy teared up. "I-I don't remember," he whimpered in a faint tone. He looked so helpless and lost, and Mark had no idea of what to do. Call the police? No, they wouldn't take it as an emergency. Some boy is sitting naked on the country road and doesn't remember a thing. Yeah, they wouldn't care. Call an ambulance? But the boy had no injuries, so that wasn't an opportunity.
There was only one other choice Mark could think of at the moment, so he stood up and walked back to his bike, the boy on the road sending daggers into his back. He pulled out the blanket that laid under the groceries, letting them fall down unprotected into the basket.
He then made his way back to the boy, the blanket in his hands.
"Stand up," he spoke softly.
The boy's mouth parted slightly as his eyes scanned the fluffy blanket. He nodded once locking eyes with the older raven-haired again. His legs were unstable and he ended up stumbling back to the ground once he made his first attempt.
Mark rushed over and helped him stand up by draping the latter's arm over his shoulder. He could feel how soft the boy's skin was as he tugged the blanket around his naked body. It was hard, but Mark had managed to let his gaze stay at appropriate places the whole time and he was pretty proud of himself.
"I'll take you with me home," he said and motioned them over to his bike. "Then we'll figure out what to do from there."
The boy nodded cutely and Mark wondered what had happened to him. How could you suddenly wake up at a random place with no memory, no clothes, and no sense of direction? It was something straight out of a movie. It made no sense.
He helped the boy onto the back of his bike and seated himself on the seat.
"Hold on tight," Mark said. He felt the other's arms wrap around his waist and his head rest up against his back. Mark began sweating. He had never been so close with a stranger before. He had thought a situation like this would be awkward but it actually wasn't.
Pushing down on the pedals, the bike wobbled a little. The boy was not very heavy and Mark managed to get the bike going pretty fast.
