☾unavngivet - ten

Mark messily wrote down the words that came from Haechan's mouth. He bit his lips and looked at the end result, trying to figure out the back story of the two sentences. "Do you think the person was speaking to you or someone else?" he asked.

The younger sighed and looked at the paper. "I couldn't tell," he said with a sigh, disappointed in himself for not being able to remember.

"Hey, hey," Mark mumbled and turned Haechan's head towards his own. "It's okay," he assured. "You'll remember eventually," he smiled and gave Haechan a comforting hug.

Mark never hugged people, that's why it was odd. There were actually a lot of things Mark never did which he had done with Haechan, and they had only known each other for two days. It was like a magic force was pulling him out of his comfort zone when he was with Haechan, and Mark was too oblivious to notice, too out of reach, in his own little fairytale, trying to find the treasure on his treasure hunt.

That's another odd thing. Why was he so eager to find the treasure, Haechan's memories? He wasn't a really sympathetic person, so it wasn't because he simply pitied the boy. Maybe it was the unreal situation and how it reminded him of his own stories.

Maybe it was the longing for adventure and darkness. A wicked castle that possibly had a dark and disturbing fundament.

Or maybe it was his lonely heart's longing for love...?

"This is tiring," Mark mumbled as he fumbled through all the possible names that included 'do'.

"Are you sure you didn't hear more than that?"

Haechan nodded and slid down further into the couch, his lower face getting buried under the grey hoodie he had borrowed from Mark. "I just remember the person saying half of the name. Do- or Dong-something," he sighed. "We don't even know if the person was talking to me so why bother?"

Mark's mouth faded into a straight line and he threw his phone away, giving up on finding the name. Haechan was right. The two stared into nothing as silence filled the air, none of them bothering to speak as they both had different thoughts running around their mind.

The tense silence was cut off by a ringing tone coming from Mark's phone. He snatched it and picked up the call.

"Jeno?"

Haechan froze as he felt a slight squeeze inside.

"Jeno, why haven't you called yesterday? I missed you."

Mark passed Haechan a glance and excused himself out of the room, leaving the younger with a sickening feeling running through his stomach.

Haechan felt sad and angry and he didn't know why. It all came so sudden by the mention of that name.

Jeno.

Haechan wanted to punch someone and he was terrified that he felt that way. Why, was the question. Why did he absolutely despise that name, to the point it affected him so much?

The younger sobbed quietly for himself, tired of not being able to remember anything, tired of knowing something in the back of his head but being unable to recall it, tired of having no idea who he is or who he was, tired of feeling all sorts of things he couldn't remember what was.

Tired of Mark talking on his phone, as he was already feeling extremely alone on the beige couch in the quiet living room.

"Wait, let me get this straight. You found some naked boy on the road, took him with you home on your bike, acted like you two were friends to fool your parents and is now keeping him at your house?"

Mark sighed and rubbed his temples. "Yeah."

"Mark fucking Lee, are you crazy?! That's fucking kidnapping!" Jeno's voice beamed out of the phone causing Mark to lower it slightly. "What are you going to do?"

"I don't know Jeno," he admitted. "I'm going to help him remember and get him back to his family, I just..." Mark trailed off, his voice cracking. "There's something special about him and I-I have a feeling I'm doing the right thing."

A silence fell on the other end and Mark gulped hard.

"You're coming to the beach house this Friday and you're going to take that boy with you," Jeno ordered from the other end. "I swear to god Mark, you can be so dumb. We'll..." he paused. "We'll figure this out, okay?"

"We will," Mark said and smiled. "See you Friday then. And come pick us up, I don't have a car."

Jeno laughed "Will do! Love you~" he sang before the call ended and Mark was left with a black screen. The house went completely silent, a silence he was used to.

He stuffed his phone back down into his pocket and made his way out of the bathroom hallway he had been standing in. He went through the entrance and into the living room where it was slightly colder as a window had been opened, the white embroidered curtains flapping against the glass, creating a calm but annoying sound that resonated through the ever so quiet room, again and again.

Mark walked over and closed off the window whereas he took a look around him. Haechan had fallen asleep on the couch and the many blankets and pillows were scattered on the floor where the two had been cuddled up against each other just a moment before.

He walked over to the younger and started tucking one of the blankets around him. Wondering when his family would come home, he looked at the time and smiled.

Soon.
