"Do...you live..around here?"

_____________________________

Kai is walking back to his home, in a casual pace, both hands shoved in pockets. It's late afternoon, not much people are seen around. He walks as he looks around.

He was bit unmindful, so he doesn't notice before that there's someone before him, when a person suddenly stands up from crouching almost right in front of him. He flinches to halt in his track, but that person, couldn't see him, for she's carrying a large carton in her arms that's almost covering her face even. And though she's walking quite slowly and carefully, for not noticing him, she now trips with his foot and loses balance, the grip on the carton tightened.

And she's about to fall on her back, a gasp leaving her mouth, but Kai reach out his hand first, to grab her, preventing the fall.

He still has a hold on her arm when she regains her balance, then slowly lowers the carton so that she could see who's it
"Careful, miss--" Kai's mumble trails off, looking at her face. Sylvette.

Her lips parts and eyes dilate.

Kai let's go of her arm now.

"Sorry, I wasn't careful-" She lowers her head.

He looks away from her eyes, then looks around, then again looks at her eyes.

"-And thanks for...that..." She says in a low voice.

He stares at her with a calm expression, then looks to their side. There are several cartons and boxes, and Kai stares at these for some seconds. He looks around again, and finds a door of one of the houses on their other side is open.

Sylvette follows his gaze, then chuckles silently. "I'm moving in here...so..." She shrugs, "I was trying to hurry...and, well, I became uncareful... Sorry for that, again." She stares at him for some seconds, but then she remembers that she's loosing time.
"... I'll go now... See you~" She turns around and starts to walk. Kai turns his gaze on the cartons now, there is so many left.

"You need help?" Kai suddenly asks in a quite low voice, making Sylvette stop in her tracks, and turn around.

"Oh- that won't be necessary... Thanks for the offer but-" she trails off, seeing Kai picking up two cartons together, then turns to her.

"It's okay," he shrugs a little, faint smile appearing by his lips.

Sylvette is surprised by his act. She can say she doesn't need his help, but that will be a lie, and also impolite, since he approached to help her by himself. So she accepts his help gladly. She smiles and nods to him, then starts to lead the way.

"Do... you live..around here?" Sylvette asks him suddenly, in a comparative low voice, uttering the words slowly, as she enters her house carrying two other small cartons she found closer, followed by Kai carrying some other.

After a few seconds, he gives a short reply with just a hum, "Hmm."

After they're done carrying all the large and small boxes and cartons to her house, some in her own room, Sylvette lets out a exhausted sigh and sits down on the floor. She places her hands to both sides and shifts the weight of herself on to her arms, her head tilting backwards.

Kai stretches his arms and changes his stance, leaning against the wall for a few minutes. He takes a look around, then looks out through the window. She looks back at him, covering her mouth for yawning, then follows his gaze.

The sun will be setting soon, the late afternoon is going to come to an end.
"Ah~ it's getting late.... " Sylvette murmurs.

Kai stands up straight after catching his breath, then looks back at her as he speaks up, "I'll go now."

"Oh-" She pushes herself to stand up, "I-uh- wait. Let me make you some good coffee, at the least......" She mumbles hesitantly.
Kai stares at her eyes that rest upon his, it seemed to her that he raised a brow very little hearing her words, then says in a decent way, "Thank you- but maybe I'll have it some other time." With that he starts to leave, approaching for the door.

She stammers, then goes after him to the door, "Uh- okay then- but-- Thank you, anyways.... for your help."

Kai doesn't look back, just gives a little nod, before shoving his hands in the pockets and stepping out. She stands by the door, watching him walk away, crossing the road, then again going farther away. There are a few people around and she soon looses sight of him among them. She still stands there for a few more seconds, before taking a breath and stepping away to shut the door.

She looks around in the house; only half of her works are done. She'll have to unpack all of them, and arrange them, decorate her room and the small house decently.

Hff.. There's still a lot left to do...
At least I had some help carrying these boxes. But who'll help me in all these now?

Guess I'll have to do all these by myself. Who else will help anyways....

She decides to take some rest now, maybe make herself some coffee. She'll do those later, maybe it'll take her the next day too to complete all these on her own.
