The halls were empty, but the grand dining room was filled. Everyone came to celebrate the official coming of Alexia. Murmurs spilled from every table in the room. It is said that one third of angels defiled God along with Satan. The room was so full that it seemed like there were more. Demons from all corners of the Underworld came to greet her. Mind you, some did not get to see let alone meet Alexia. The candlelight on the center of the long table flickered and danced, casting shadows on the walls.
"I don't see the need to be here." the blonde hair, blue eyed boy mumbled, toying with the flame that sat on the dark wood. It was the same boy who had first met Alexia when she fell into Purgatory.
"of course you don't," Damari retorted, "you've already met her."
"not since her fall. But that does not change the fact that she's nothing special in my eyes." he sighed.
"Damien, you know you can't speak like that about her." Dimitri warned. If Lucifer had overheard, they would have been done for. Damien rolled his eyes, "I'm just saying, what makes her so special? There are plenty of other suitors better fitted for the job." Damari slammed his hands down on the table. Damien just looked up at him as if to ask, "what is it now?"
Damari spoke, "she has more power than us combined. She's from Heaven, Hell and Earth. We have no idea what she's capable of. Stop." he pressed, locking eyes with Damien. Damien just looked up at him and sighed, "fine." Dimitri side glanced at his twin, who was side glancing at him as well. Now, Dimitri and Damari could talk to just one another without the use of verbal words, but they found this to be boring. Too easy. Dimitri held a sly smirk on his face as he leaned over to his brothers ear and asked, "what was that all about, Damari?" he leaned back a little to let his younger twin speak. Damari pouted a little,
"you know of my anger issues."
"ah, yes, but not recently." Dimitri eyed him. A wicked gleam could be detected behind the devilish boys gaze.
"Alexia has barely gotten a chance." he sighed, getting frustrated again. He stared into Dimitri's eyes, daring him to challenge him.
"I'm not sure I completely disagree with Damien." Dimitri replied nonchalantly. Damari's eyes flickered to his brothers, as if looking at a traitor. Dimitri laughed a twinkling laugh,
"oh, your sudden dedication to Lucifer is both admirable and surprising."
"and your lack thereof is not surprising at all and I find it to be a boring repeat of last time." Damari didn't miss a beat. Dimitri tried to look angry, and if it was someone else who had dug at him like that, he would have been. But since it was Damari, he burst out laughing,
"you should have seen your face! Oh Damari, Relax. You known Damien is just bitter." Damari turned away,"Alexia is under Lucius' hold," Damari turned serious, "do you not understand what danger she is in?"
"you more than anyone else know I realize that." his voice grew dark. Damien was still looking at the two, amused.
"what?" they asked in unison, now both equally annoyed.
"you two are just so adorable when you fight." he laughed, crossing his arms. Damari and Dimitri looked at each other, and semi-smiled. They were already over their argument.
Damari threw his arms around his brothers shoulders, "Dimitriiii! I'm bored!"
"It'll start soon enough." Dimitri sighed, as if to say "what will I ever do with you?" Damari smiled contently and looked over at Damien, who was eyeing him. Damari locked eyes with him. Damien broke away first, messing with the candle again. Dimitri noticed this but decided not to provoke Damien or Damari, whose anger issues really weren't something to mess with.
Everyone got quiet, so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. Out of what seemed to be nowhere, Alexia appeared. She was wearing a floor length black ballgown. The lace traced her shoulders and went halfway up her neck. Her hair was piled on her head, and her lips were dark red. She seemed to be nervous, despite her makeover. She made her way over to the golden throne beside her fathers. She hesitated, then nodded to Cassius who stood by the doorway, and slowly sat down. Cheer erupted from every table, and Alexia's face lit up.
"alright, scratch that," Damien smirked, "I may not mind letting her rule over me after all."
The twins smirked.
