my brother didn't understand why there were burritos and tacos but he wasn't complaining. i know this because i did wake up with it all gone and a thanks note on the counter.

i slept in. didn't even bother going to school. i called and excused it before my mom got a call - because that would have been my ass.

i decided i should at least be productive. i'm going to go to a bookstore i think. but coffee first.

i make a whole pot of coffee and pour all of it into insulated cups. i drink 2 before i even step foot out of the house.

to be honest, i don't know what i'm doing with anything. drinking coffee until caffeine is the only thing left in my bloodstream and smoking like i couldn't cared if i lived or died (which i dont but that is besides the point).

i step out very quietly and throw on a jacket or sweater or whatever because it's fucking below 40. i hate ohio. i decided to walk, since i really can't afford gas for being so damn expensive.

after walking for what felt like an eternity (two blocks) i arrived at said bookstore. this random dude bumps into me on my way in like he's got somewhere to be. he probably does.
sometimes i've gotta be like "listen up tyler, most people have friends and plans and actually care enough to fulfill said plans".

this guy then drops his books. i contemplate for a moment whether or not i actually want to help him. i'm not one to actually interact with people unless i absolutely have to so this was a hard decision. alright, i cave in.

i lean down and pick up as many as i can and hand them over. "thanks."

i stutter out a "n-no p-pr-problem."

he laughs as he's walking away. he seems like a douche, wearing a muscle tee and dyed hair. he even carried himself like he thought he was hot shit.

i finally make it into the bookstore, my head held low. i try to act like i'm super cool and shit but ive got enough anxiety to share to a crowd of people.

it's too busy in here right now. I stick my hands in my back pockets to find a slip of paper. it reads "i'm josh btw". wow look he bothered to let me know his name. why though? it's not like I'll ever see him again.

am i?

*******
I like this chapter better than the first one tbh...
