Pt.1 Nervous

It was the day. The day I was dreading all year long. I remember Thomas Jefferson's last remarks on the last day of Sophomore year: "When you come back." He had said "I'm going to beat your ass turtle boy."

Yeah. I didn't really like to talk to anyone at school. Maria Reynolds was a lesbian jerk. James Madison just followed Thomas's lead. The Schuyler sisters were their own independent group. And they hated men. My only real friends were Marquis de Lafayette (The French Fry) and Hercules Mulligan (The Teddy Bear).

"JOHN LAURENS YOU BETTER BE GETTING READY FOR SCHOOL!" Ugh. I got up and got ready. I came downstairs for breakfast. "I've told you before if you didn't dress like that-!" "I know, I know the kids at school would take me more seriously if I dressed better." Like I actually cared. I ate breakfast and left. "Bye dad." I said. "Like i'm going to miss you" I mumbled. "WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Dad yelled. I ran out of the house.

I got on the bus prepared to get beat up. "Hey John!" I flinched. Thank god. It was Hercules. "Morning teddy bear." I said. "Haha very funny man." He said. I gave him a high five. "So whats up man?" I said. Hercules smirked. "Good news man." He said "Thomas moved to France." "What?!" I said. "Yup." I was happier than a kid at Christmas. This was awesome.

"Oui oui mon ami!" I heard as the bus doors shut. It was the one and only.

"AYE!" Me and Hercules screamed. "IT'S THE FRENCHIEST FRENCH FRY!" We all laughed. The Schuyler's evil eyed us. Like we cared. This was actually an awesome start to the year.

"So." Lafayette said. "j'ai des nouvelles!" God the news just never stops around here. "You know my pen pal?" "Yeah" I said. "The dude from the Caribbean." "That's him! He's moving to our school! Were gonna meet him today!" "Cool!" Hercules said. I didn't know what to think. With my luck this guy would be another Thomas Jefferson. I've never seen any pictures of the dude but it didn't matter. Karma would take over.

The bus stopped. We all got off and headed to our homerooms. We all had Mr. Washington as our homeroom teacher. We sat down in our usual order. Lafayette in front, Hercules in the back, and me in the middle.

Suddenly some kid i'd never seen before came into the classroom. He had like 50 books. My first instinct was: NERD! KEEP AWAY!

He dropped all of his books as soon as he came in. "GAH!" He screamed when he dropped them. He looked really nervous. I went to go help him pick up his books like the angel I am (not). That's when I really saw him.

He had beautiful long brown hair in a pony tail. He wore cute glasses but he seemed very mature and smart. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans. His eyes were a pretty blue. I could feel my face blush a bright red when he looked back at me. He smiled.

"Hi." He said kindly. His voice was mature and soothing. It just made me blush even more. "I'm Alexander Hamilton. But you can call me Alex." "I'm J-John Laurens." I said nervously "Are you new around here?" That was a stupid question but he smiled and said "Yeah. Is this Mr. Washington's home room?" I paused to look at him dreamily until I realized that he asked me a question.

"Oh! Um yeah sorry." He laughed and said "No problem! Where are you sitting?" "Over there next to Hercules, the kid with the short curly hair and" "LAFAYETTE?!" He yelled. "Is that you?!" "Oui! It's Alex! Mon ami! How's the Caribbean?" "Haha good Frenchie"

No way. Alex was Lafayette's pen pal. I couldn't believe it. "Your sitting here right John?" Alex asked me. "Y-Yeah." I said. "You wouldn't mind if I sat next to you right?" I blushed. "Um..." Hercules gave me the thumbs up and Lafayette was making kissy faces. "S-sure!" I said as I evil eyed Lafayette. "Awesome!" Alex said.

I was blushing as we all compared class periods. Me and Alex have english, gym, and art together.

"Just you wait until you see Johns drawings!" Hercules told Alex. "They are amazing!" "There definitely better than mine." Alex said. "I can't draw." "Don't be so hard on yourself!" I said. "I'm sure your drawings are amazing" I sounded like a real dork."Haha sure man. I write better than I draw."

The bell rang and me, Hercules and Lafayette headed to Socail Studies as we waved goodbye to Alex. "Ooooooo." Lafayette said. "I think John has a crush on Alex." "Shut up French Fry!" I screamed as my face went red. It was true though. I went to Social Studies with the original crew. I couldn't wait for next period. Art.
