The night was quiet, besides the sound of crickets chirping and other night animals making sounds. It was peaceful out in the woods. You were in your bed, trying to fall asleep to the nighttime noises, which wasn't working, as soon as you closed your eyes again, you felt weight on your bed.

Not yours, but your boyfriend, Rust's weight. A myth that would always love to terrify people, including you, yet he would sometimes be soft and gentle with you, you loved it, you loved him. You felt him wrap his arms around you. "You still awake?" He whispered, questioning you. You just silently nod. "Can't sleep?" He questioned again, still whispering.

You nod again. You heard him huff as if he was worried before feeling him snuggle closer to you. "Rust-?" You muttered, blushing as you felt his hands travel to your waist, pulling you to his chest. "Mhm?" He hummed quietly, looking at you with what seemed to be tired eyes, yet a smile was plastered on his face.

Not his usual creepy smile that he usually had, a genuine smile. He messed with your (H/C) hair, running his fingers through it. You felt safe, you felt comforted. You wrapped your arms around him, eyes half-lidded. You could hear it start raining outside, that white noise sound was peaceful to you.

Everything seemed still, everything seemed perfect. "I love you." Rust whispered to you, breaking the silence, kissing your cheek. "I love you too.." You mumbled, closing your eyes as your lover still embraced you. Soon he feel asleep along with you.

In the morning you slowly opened your eyes, seeing Rust still asleep. Must've been a long night for him before he came to sleep with you. You tried to sit up, but Rust was still cuddling you, and it seemed like he wouldn't let go anytime soon.

You sighed before smiling, kissing his forehead. Putting your head to his chest. Hearing his slow heartbeat, it felt nice. You could hear that the creatures of the night were gone and replaced with the sounds of birds chirping, everything that was there in the night was gone. But the memories were still there.

"I love you, Rust." You said to yourself, closing your eyes to hopefully get a few more minutes of sleep, as you shut your eyes you heard Rust mumble in his sleep.

"I love you to (Y/N).."
