i walk down the hallway running down to my math class before i hear my name.

"nick mara and rey collins, go to the principals office please" i hear somebody say from the speakers around school and i roll my eyes as i turn around to walk to principals office. it took me awhile since our school was huge, i enter the waiting room where i find nick sitting on the brown couch outside his door. i roll my eyes and sit on the other sofa far away from him.

"rey and nick" i hear the voice say and we walk in to principals office, sitting on each chair in front of him where the desk was in between. the principal chews on his pencil as he looks at us and we both still don't know why we were here.

"so you threw toilet paper over my house?" he asks us and we both jump. "you really think i didn't have a security camera?" he chuckles out as i turn red but also filled with anger. fuck.

"i'll have to expel you both i'm sorry" he says but i jump once again and beg him not to, i knew i had a bright future. "i'll do anything" i say and he starts to think.

"clean the whole school for 3 months" he says and my eyes widens, is he serious or just joking around? i sit down and sigh and nod, nick nods aswell. i force myself not to look at him, he's the last thing i needed.. kind of.

"you're starting today" he says before he points at the door telling us to leave. we walk out the door and i continue walking away before i hear nick talk to me. "isn't it funny.. us, here" he says nervously chuckling as i turn around. opening my mouth but not a word comes out. i continue walking away from him but i feel his steps getting louder and i run away from him, but he runs after me. i see edwin in the hallway and i run to him wrapping my arms around his waist, nick stops when he sees us.

"was he trying to hurt you again?" edwin asks me as he responds to my hug, i didnt respond. edwin pushes me away and walk towards nick with threatening steps, i run and stop edwin. "he didn't? i just didn't wanna be near him" i say to edwin and he sighs. i hold his hand tightly and walk away from nick, far away.

"heyy bitch" i hear charlotte shout behind me and i turn around to see tiffany and ari next to her, and obviously zion running behind them. "uhm zion, aren't you in the football team?" i giggle out after i watch him bend on his knees breathing in and out.

"yes- it's just- you coming to the football game today?" he changes the subject and i chuckle. all the other girls nod and i wasn't sure, because nick was playing today, but so was edwin, austin, brandon and zion and i didn't want to miss it because of some stupid guy.

i finally nod and i look at the others, they jump with excitement. "you guys better win or you've wasted my time" i tell them. "wait- i cant.."

"what do you mean?"

"i got to clean the school after school" i roll my eyes but the others didn't understand.

"yeah uh, i wrapped our principals house with toilet paper" i say and they burst in laughter, i roll my eyes again looking at the four people on the floor, crying of laughter.

"that's honestly so sad" tiffany says but i shrug.
they finally stopped laughing and got up from the plastic floor that was white.
"gotta go" i roll my eyes and turn my back at them as i leave for my next class.

school was finally done and i enter the janitors room. i see nick and my eyes scan his whole body that was in front of me. "you don't like what you see?" he say to me chuckling, and i roll my brown eyes and turn around to grab a mope. i furrow my eyebrows again as i feel his hands grip my arm.

before i let him speak i do it "hey, watch it.. you don't wanna hurt me again" i say shaking off my arm off of his as i walk out the room and start mopping the big hallway. he runs behind me and mops the white floor behind me. "i didn't mean to hurt you" he says with a soft tone in his voice. somehow the soft tone of his words made me melt.

"we were never really friends anyways, i just felt bad for you" i shrug, his eyes went from please i'm sorry to anger, and hate. i go back to mopping the floor, my brown hair was in a bun and i put on my head phones as i put on some music. i start smiling when i hear shawn mendes' voice in my ears and i dance to the rhythm of the music, swinging my hips back and forth, left to right. i was more effective than i was before.

i feel somebody put their hands on my waist as they turn me around causing me to face nick. i furrow my eyebrows giving him a look of disgust, he pulls my headphones down around my neck as i hear the music that was playing the day we i walked home in the cold weather. you should be here by kehlani, i try to hide the smile.

he smiles at me and i try my best to continue hiding my smile, he starts to swing his hips back and forth and doing weird moves with his arms and i giggle. he really started to get into it, he really can dance, i try to follow his moves, but i looked like a robot that wasn't even functioning the right way, he stops while i continue to dance, he laughs and i stop. my arms were crossed and i was in a bad mood again.

"no no no don't stop, i mean you weren't that bad.." he says trying his best not to laugh but fails. "shut up i CAN dance" i yell at him but he nods in sarcasm, i roll my eyes and start to dance, moving my arms up and down. still enjoying the last verse of kehlanis song.

suddenly without me being aware of it a new song was playing. whitegirlvoice by rajitheone a slow song. nick wraps his arms around my waist and i blush, i wrap my arms around his neck and we dance to the left and right slowly as i'm forced to look into his eyes.

"i told you, i'd never hurt you"

"i know that nick, you just.." i say interrupting myself when i meet his eyes, i freeze.

"i what?"

"you seem intermediating"

"i promise you i'll do you good"

"that's not what i meant nick" we're still moving back and forth to the beautiful song that was playing, i moved my eyes looking through the big hallway.

i let go of him and grab my equipment and go back to the cleaning before i hear edwins voice. i feel anything but relief, what if he came just one second before he did now, nick would've been dead. "you shouldn't be near him" edwin says as he walks towards me because he knew nick had hurt me physically.

"it's fine, i'm safe here" without meeting nicks eyes.

"rey please, i don't trust him" he whispers to me and i shrug as i follow edwin looking back at nick who was looking down on the floor with disappointment, i try to hide my smile that appeared because he was a little sad over when edwin walked over and interrupted what we were talking about.
