Karson's POV

______________________

Niall and I walked hand in hand through the halls, earning the attention of too many people. Niall hadn't acknowledged any of them though, he just kept a small smirk on his lips as he dragged me around behind him.

"Niall, we passed your class..." I stated, but it came out as more as a question.

"I'm walking you to yours." He said plainly, as if I should've know.

More like dragging me. The hallways were always crowded, causing Niall to walk in front of me, with his arm stretches out behind him so he could still hold my hand.

At first it seemed sweet but now it's just possessive.

'You're mine' his words repeated in my head, and the more I heard it, the more annoyed I felt towards them. I was not in a relationship with Niall, therefore he couldn't claim me.

Once we reached my class, we had half an hour till class started. I figured we had been out much longer, but I was wrong.

"I guess I should have timed things better, yeah?" Niall asked quietly, scratching the back of his neck. He stared down at his shoes when all I responded with was a shrug.

Not many people were in this part of the school, just Niall, me, and the few people in the class doing what I'd assumed was last minute homework. We stood in silence for a few moments, and let me tell you it was not a comfortable silence.

"Are you just gonna stare at your shoes or keep me good company" I joke, sitting down next to my class' door.

Niall sat down next to me, and we made small talk for a bit. It wasn't exactly fun, but it was better than not talking.

"Do you like it here?" He asked, and I knew he was running out of things to talk about.

"It's better than my old school" I reply blandly, not helping with the lack of conversation.

"You know you make it hard to like you.." Niall laughed, turning to face me. What's that supposed to mean?

I looked at him with an eyebrow quirked up. He just smiled. He placed a hand on the ground in front of him to lean on, then began leaning into me. I pulled back and stood up, away from his puckered lips and closed eyes.

Once Niall realized I had dodged his kiss, he looked up from from the ground, looking sad and confused.

"I don't kiss people I'm not dating" I state all too happily, and as if on cue, the bell rang.

I walked into class leaving an annoyed Niall to storm off to his.

I know I lied to Niall, but I wanted to keep that a secret. I'd kissed plenty of guys, but that's not what I wanted people here thinking. I'm not about to get into my old habits again, that would totally defeat the purpose of starting over. I mean, I want to kiss Niall, but not yet.

Once the class was settled, and I took my usual spot beside Raina and Liam, I zoned out and decided to think back to this morning. A small part of me hoped there would be more surprise dates.

"Earth to Karson!" Raina whisper shouted, snapping her fingers in front of my face.

"What?" I asked slowly.

"I asked you how to date went." Se smirked nudging my arm a little. Right. The date. I smiled lightly, ducking my head to hide the blush creeping upon my cheeks.

"It was great.." I sighed quietly.

"Is that sarcasm?" Raina scoffed.

"No I mean it was really great. He's great!" I laughed, but not loud enough to disturb the class.

"Good. I knew it would be." She smirks yet again, then turning her attention to our teacher.

By lunch time, Niall was leaning against the door of the cafeteria. I tried to walk past him, to the table the rest of our friends were, bur next thing I knew Niall's strong grip was around my wrist.

I looked up to him, with an eyebrow raised, but he looked emotionless.

Niall interlocked our fingers and walked towards our table- dragging me behind him again. Before I could down next to my 'best friend' Niall pulled me into his lap, wrapping his arms tightly around my waist.

Raina was sporting the hugest grin possible while staring at the two of us.

"Niall..?" I asked slowly.

"Don't question it. Get comfortable." I could feel his smirk against the back of my neck while he spoke.

I shifted around in his lap a little, trying to do as I was told, but Niall's hands quickly unwrapped themselves from my waist, and held my hips to keep me from moving.

"Don't do that." He snapped in my ear, trying to keep the conversation between the two of us.

"You seem to forget you're on top of my-"

"Stop!" I said quickly and too loudly.

Everyone at our table stopped talking and directed their attention to Niall and I.

"Everything okay?" Liam asked with worry written all over his face. Liam. Everyone knew he had some sort of feelings for me, but here I am on Niall right in front of him.

"She's fine." Niall glared at Liam, subconsciously re-wrapping his as around my waist even tighter this time, resting his chin on my shoulder.

'Are you?' Liam mouthed to me once conversations started up again.

I just nodded simply. Happy Liam had enough interest to know how I was, but my heart slightly fluttered at the thought of Niall being clingy and jealous
