"Today marks the fifth anniversary of a case that turned heads around the country. Kentrell Gaulden—known as Youngboy Never Broke Again—disappeared after vacationing in Jamaica, only to resurface—" Kentrell snatches the remote up and cuts the television off in a swift motion.

"Damn, will they ever shut up?" He mumbled to himself, standing up and smoothing out his shirt.

Kay and Kam's Dad it read on the back, while the front had a picture of the two boys posted up together on a old platform, Kayden's arm resting on Kam's shoulders. "C'mere Lijah." He waved the young boy towards him, then pulled out a wave brush for him.

"Hm, brush them BBs on yo head." He said gruffly. This caught Elijah's attention, making him frown.

"Whatcha talking bout pops? I got them spinners!" He said, taking off his ocean blue durag and revealing his hair.

"Spinn—boy, Hell you know bout some SpInNeRs? You are seven lil nigglet. Brush ya hair."

"Hater." Elijah mumbled as he brushed his hair. Kentrell was about to scold him again, but the sound of little feet hitting the steps stopped him.

"DADDY!" Out of the staircase came Aliyah and Kentrell's toddler son, Keshawn. His curly hair was pulled into a tight ponytail, his graduation shirt way too big for his small body.

"Yeah, dude?" Kentrell called to him as he ran towards him.

"Look! Look at my car." Keshawn shoved a Hotwheels car in his dad's face, his face bright with excitement.

"Yeah man, I see it. It's coo' ain't it?" He smiled even wider, nodding. He picked him up and put him on his knee.

"YALL BETTA BE DOWNSTAIRS IN THIRTY SECONDS OR IMMA SPIN OFF ON YALL ASSES. Gone be mad at me then." He huffed, putting his son back on the ground and grabbing his cane in case they were gonna be standing up.

"WE COMING, SHIT!" Queen yelled from the upstairs bathroom where she was helping Ariel pin her hair up.

"Ah, ma!" She shrunk away.

"My bad, come on before I have to slap your pops." She said playfully as she let Ariel stand up and leave to join her father in the living room. Arianna came out from her room, thinking that her mother had already passed. By the time she figured out that she was wrong, her mom glanced at her. She looked at Ari with a blank face, observing her outfit.

She had on a graduation shirt as well, it was cut up like Ariel's and Aliyah's, but she didn't have a shirt underneath like them. She wore white booty shorts and her new purple Jordans to go with the purple and silver colors of the shirts. Aliyah didn't say anything like she usually would. She just shook her head and headed down the staircase.

Kentrell just gave Arianna a mean mug, then turned to Aliyah.

"You lettin' her step out like this?" Was all he asked. She just shrugged. A glint of curiosity flashed in his eyes. "Aight, you gone start fuckin' listening to me, Arianna. Get in the damn car."

"Man, chill daddy. I'm old enough to dress myself." He just chuckled and nodded as they stepped out into the boiling heat.
