I didn't know what to do. Usually, if one of my friends started breaking down, it was pretty easy to calm them down, but with Ruel it was a lot different. I could tell he didn't want me to see him in a vulnerable state of mind, but he couldn't help it. I figured it was too early on to ask him what set him off, so I just tried comforting him. I tried to get him to calm down, but he wasn't paying attention to anything I was saying.

I quickly unbuckled my seat belt and leaned over to the drivers side of the car, where Ruel was sitting. I gently held is face in my hands, admiring his soft features. "Ruel, look at me. Come on, please." I beg, softening my voice, trying not to scare him. We make eye contact and I feel butterflies in my stomach. I'm not sure what I'm feeling, but I do know it's not the right time. "Listen to me," I tell him, still managing eye contact. "You are going to be just fine. I don't know what went on in that room, but I do know that you are strong enough to handle it. No matter what, I will always be here. I will not let anything happen to you, I promise, and when I make promises, I never ever break them." I put my hand on his heart feeling his heartbeat steady. He was about to say something. "Shh. Don't speak. Just focus on me." I tell him, as he silently nods. I put my arms around him, while he holds me even tighter. I wish this moment could last forever.

"Hey. Are you still awake?" I hear Ruel whisper from the bedroom floor. "I am now. What do you want Ruel?" I ask angrily. "I can't go to sleep and something's been on my mind." he says quietly. "What is it?" I ask.

"It's about Mark and I's conversation. He gave me a choice. He told me I must choose between my music a-and you." My heart drops.

"Oh my god Ruel. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't hav-"
"No. Stop. This isn't your fault. I shouldn't have let my feelings get in the way of my music. It's hard. Music could be my life, but you could be in my life. You mean so much more to me, but I have so many amazing people supporting me, and my music. I can't just throw all my hard work away, but I also can't imagine not having you in my life. I don't know what I'm going to do Emma." Ruel says, his voice starting to break.

"Come here" I tell him. I can't do much in this situation, but I can be there for Ruel and that's what I'm going to do. I hear him get up off the floor, and I feel his presence beside me. I turn the lamp on, that's sitting on the bedside table. We both lay face to face to each other. "You're cute." he giggles. I blush. "You're cuter." I reply, and it's his turn to blush. We lay there for a few minutes, admiring each other. I see his eyes move to my lips, as my eyes move to his. The next second, I feel his soft lips against mine. I immediately kiss him back. I feel his hand caress my cheek, whilst I pull him even closer, if that's even possible. Ruel pulls away and we both giggle. "Goodnight my love" Ruel whispers in my ear.

a/n YAY so it finally happened. I've been waiting for this chapter and it's finally here! I'm really hoping I'm not taking Emma and Ruel's relationship too fast, but I just couldn't resist haha. Also, there will be some new characters in the future and there's going to be A LOT of drama 😏
