This chapter will mainly be Sal's short story that I mentioned before. It doesn't really contribute to the story so if you don't like that kind of thing, then you might not enjoy this chapter.
Sal's POV

Before I even open my eyes, I can tell that I'm still at Larry's.

I can feel him holding onto me in bed. Our legs are tangled together and I'm snuggled into his chest.

Then I remember why I'm here: Mia.

This time I don't cry when I think of her, I just feel empty. It feels like a piece of me is gone with her.

It seems pretty early, so I don't make any move to get up yet. I feel safe when I'm with Larry.

I lay there for a while before I do get up. I should write my story now. I carefully get out of bed without waking Larry and get a notebook out of my bag.

I go back to sit against the wall on his bed and start writing.

Puppy Party
Sal Fisher

There once was a small chihuahua named Buddy. He was always very energetic and loved to spend time with his friends. He sometimes has a play date with this bigger dog named Dan. Dan was a playful little pit bull. Dan and Buddy played with each other a lot. They get into all kinds of trouble and destroy many chew toys. There's a couple dogs who are really mean to them, though. One dog is named Opal. He's a big big big dog, almost like a giant. He's a mutt. He steals Buddy's toys and lays in Buddy's bed without asking. When Opal plays with Buddy, it's not like play fighting, it really hurts Buddy. Buddy tries so hard to be friends with Opal, but in return he just gets hurt. Dan hates Opal for this, but Buddy won't let them fight. Opal hates Buddy. He tells Buddy that he's worthless and that Buddy should be put down. He threatens Buddy saying that he'll rot in the kennel. Opal also hurts some of Buddy's other friends, and that makes Buddy upset.
Buddy is planning a party soon. He wants to invite Opal, but he's scared. Buddy has found out that Opal has a bad owner so he lashes out. He feels bad for Opal, but he's still scared. He decides to invite Opal against Dan's better judgement.
When the party starts, everyone is scared of Opal because of how big he is and how scary he looks. Buddy brings out some chew toys and everyone just forgets that Opal is even there. Buddy and Opal play fight over a squeaky duck toy.
Opal is definitely getting invited to more Puppy Parties.
