Seventeen|Welcome Back

I put my phone on vibrate as I got back home, Rahul greeted me with a hug and was about to put his lips upon mine when I refused. I knew what I wanted and that was to be Cody’s girl. It was about 3 am when everything settled down; we put the plan in action. I put all my things in a couple suitcases and quietly took it out into the living room; Rahul was a heavy sleeper so our mission was easier. Cody called me while I was packing my things,

“Hey.” I whispered

“Hey babe, you ready?”

“Almost! Where are you?”

“Closer than you think, open the door.” Cody sounded all sweet. I glided across the wooden floor and opened the door to reveal my handsome prince who at the moment was playing a stupid move

“Codes! If Rahul wakes up you will be dead, I will meet you downstairs.”

“Okay I’ll go, but give me your bags.” I gave Cody my bags.

“Here now I should be there shortly.”

“Can I get a kiss goodbye?”

“GO CHILD! GO!” I whispered and shouted at the same time.

I got the remainder of my things and decided to write Rahul a letter just because I felt a little bad just leaving like this.

 Dear Rahul,

 You probably have woken up and realized I am not by your side and as you go to reach your phone you will find this letter, I have to let you know that I have left the city to go back to my old life, this is where I belong. I have decided to go live the rest of my life with the person who truly loves me and who I love as well. I am sorry for all the pain I have caused you, I am sorry for breaking off our marriage but I wasn’t happy, I really wasn’t. I am going back to be with him, the one who you don’t really favor, the one who made me his even before we saw each other. I knew if I decided to leave you while you were awake that you would kill him and I wouldn’t let that happen. I know you are going to call and tell my parents about me leaving but it really doesn’t matter to me anymore, I love him even though we have our times when we fight. Thank you for everything you have done for me in this unknown city I once used to call home but I really need him. Here I leave the amazing ring behind as a symbol what we used to be, but don’t worry you will find someone who is so much better than me. You might not be able to find me but I would like you to know I am always a phone call away if you need help with anything.

As I finished the letter I pushed away a small tear that was creeping upon my face, I heard Rahul rustling in his bed which gave me the signal to leave. I put the letter by his phone and took off the ring that once meant something to me. I walked out of the room and almost out the door when something stopped me, I felt like there was something I was missing but what was it. I took one look around the apartment and found nothing that was mine. I left this place breaking off one important relationship that meant something to Rahul and my parents and now I was going to start a new one with the person I loved and this time it was for sure. I went down to the lobby of my apartment where I was in a pair of jeans with a black off shoulder top that had the word LOVE along with my hair put up in a messy bun since it was 3:30 AM. I saw Cody put the bags into the taxi and as I walked out he stopped. He moved his body towards mine without leaving space; I looked into his eyes as if I was looking for an answer for my unknown question. His smile brought warmth to my heart, he wrapped his arms around my waist and buried his head into my shoulder, and I could hear a couple sniffs coming from him

“Cody?”

“Mhmm” Cody mumbled

“Are you alright?”

Cody picked up his head and looked at me with his sad, red eyes “I missed you so much and I am just afraid.”

“Afraid?”

“I don’t ever want to lose you.”

“You aren’t going to Codes.” I said comforting him.

“Are you guys going hurry? Or am I going to have to come and get you two love birds?” A familiar voice came out of the cab. I turned my head to see a beautiful blonde girl who was my best friend.

“ALLI SIMPSON!” I yelled running towards her, pulling her into my embrace. We laughed together as we did a little happy dance.

Cody came beside me and put his hand on my lower back to let me know it’s time to go, we all sat in the cab where I went down the checklist I had prepared.

“Cell phone.”

“Check.” Cody and Alli said united

“Car keys and house keys.”

“Check.”

“Wallets.”

“Check.”

“Passports.”

“Check.”

“Plane tickets to LA.”

“Check”

“A brand new love that is never ending.”

“Check!” Cody yelled wrapping his arms around my waist pulling me in for a kiss. We were now on our way to start our new lives, away from my parents, away from the Rahul, away from the drama, and away from the past.
