The boys hardly ever went to dinner together, they didn't have much spare time to spend out and most of their time was spent in the studio, on tour or with their families. Tonight was the night they were releasing their debut album '8 letters'. They decided to go out for dinner to celebrate after they finished their writing session at the studio. They decided it would be best for Corbyn to drive as it was normally Jonah driving them around and he wanted to give the older boy a break and all the other boys agreed with his decision. Jonah was in the seat next to him with Jack behind him, Daniel in the middle and Zach behind Corbyn.
They headed out at around 6:50 pm. Their restaurant reservation was at 7pm and they had another 15 minutes to drive before they got there. Corbyn was stressed as he didn't want to make the boys late or be responsible for them missing their reservation. He was starting to get agitated at all the traffic and was too stressed to concentrate properly. He was approaching a roundabout with a complicated set of traffic lights and wasn't paying his full attention to the road.
That's when it happened. It was almost in slow motion. A car smashed into the driver's side of their car. Corbyn caught a direct hit whilst Zach caught the horrific whip lash from the vehicle. The car was instantly filled with terrified screams of fear and pain. Jonah, himself left hardly injured without considering the shock he just experienced, looked immediately over to the two boys who had caught the majority of the forceful impact. Both were clearly unconscious and the smashed windows had left their almost lifeless bodies littered with small pieces of sharp glass. Zach's wrist look clearly dislocated although Corbyn looked in a slightly worse condition. The plastic from the other car's headlight impaled him sharply through his leg and he was facing towards Jonah, suggesting that his back caught the most impact.
Jonah, Daniel and Jack hurriedly clambered out of the upturned vehicle and yelled for help before attempting to help get their friends out of the car. The driver of the other car got out of his car, seemingly uninjured, after attempting to drive away but failing due to being stopped by pedestrians. Jack immediately called an ambulance before trying to stop the man responsible for the crash. He appeared intoxicated which would explain his reckless driving behaviour.
Around two minutes later, a pair of two ambulances pulled up to the scene, their sirens roaring loud through the city as they rushed to the two helpless males stuck in their upturned car. Two paramedics went for each boy and encouraged the building crowd to step bag. They managed to relieve Zach from the car and place him on a stretcher. He was slowly regaining consciousness and the minute he opened his eyes, he had Daniel and Jack right by his side, squeezing his hands for comfort and running their fingers through his hair in an attempt to soothe the boy that was in an obviously large amount of pain.
After what felt like forever, they placed Corbyn in a backbrace and proceded to take him to one of the ambulances. Jonah travelled with the unconscious boy in the ambulance whilst Jack and Daniel followed in the ambulance with Zach.
When they reached the hospital, the three boys had to wait in the waiting room whilst the two injured boys were rushed inside. Zach was taken straight to a private room where he was put on a drip and they began to assess the extent of the injuries to his wrist. Corbyn however, was rushed into having a full body scan and then emergency surgery to attempt to fix the dislocated disks in his back.
After surgery, the boys were allowed into Corbyn's room, including Zach. They stayed there with him as each day passed until he was well enough to go home.
The day he was able to go home was an incredible time for him. He hadn't been home in over two weeks and he was more than ready to sleep in his own bed again.
The boys took great care of him throughout his whole recovery and the fans were very understanding.
After a few months, various check ups and lots of physio therapy, Corbyn was on the mend. He knew he could always trust the boys to look after him and although it was so unfortunate for such a horrible incident to happen to him, he's thankful that it brought the boys even closer together which they never thought could happen.
