Ship ~ Zach x Jonah

The boys were always protective of Zach as he was the baby of the group and Jonah especially, being the oldest, always looked out for the youngest. Zach has suffered from asthma ever since he was small but didn't tell the boys. Truthfully he figured he could handle on his own as long as he always carried an inhaler with him. He thought the boys may be too overprotective of him if he told them and he felt slightly embarrassed by the condition even though he couldn't help it. He managed to avoid telling the boys about his asthma until one day when the boys were getting ready for the day at their shared house.

Zach knew that aftershaves and strong odors could cause an asthma attack so he often left the room if one of the boys was using aftershave or hairspray.

One morning Zach was brushing his teeth in his shared bathroom with Jonah and Corbyn when Jonah walked in and began to spray lots of aftershave on him. Zach knew he should probably leave the room but Jonah was having a conversation with him and he didn't want to appear rude to the older boy. Zach had finished brushing his teeth and began to leave the room until Jonah asked him another question. The younger boy began to space out and he knew that the strong smell was getting to him. Before long the boy began coughing and couldn't stop. He tried his best but he knew there was no way he could avoid what was about to happen.

Jonah must have noticed the younger boy's distress as he went straight up to him with a worried expression on his face.

"Hey, hey, Zay what's wrong, are you ok bud?" Jonah said slightly worried for the youngest band member.

Zach couldn't reply as more coughs came, making him more and more anxious as he knew he would have to explain to the boys why he didn't tell them sooner about his asthma.

"Boys, come here, Zach needs you" Jonah yelled loudly.

After the other three boys rushed in they ran straight over to the youngest, who was now with his back against the shower, with worried filled faces.

"Woah, woah, Z, calm down, calm down, you're ok." Daniel tried to comfort the younger boy who was not in a good way.

"I-I-nha-ler" was all Zach managed to choke out between coughs.

The boys quickly understood what was happening and realised they needed to get the younger boy his inhaler.

"Where is it bud?" Corbyn asked calmly trying to process what was happening.

"Ba-g- my-er-my ba-g" Zach managed to communicate to the boys.

Jack rushed to the door to and Zach's rucksack and started to search the pockets in hope to find his inhaler.

After finding it in the front pocket, Jack ran back to the other boys and handed it straight to the boy who was wincing in pain on the floor.

After a few minutes and a couple puffs of his inhaler, Zach began to calm down.

Corbyn had wrapped his arm around the smaller boys frame and the other three were whispering words of encouragement to the boy.

"So what was that all about Zay? Why didn't you tell us buddy?" Daniel said in a calm and comforting tone.

"I'm sorry guys, truthfully I was embarrassed and worried of what you would think. I know I shouldn't have been because I don't know what I would have done without your help there." He told the older boys crowding around him.

"Z, we would never be mad at you, I'm so sorry for spraying so much of that around you, I feel so bad, are you sure you are ok bud?"

"Yeah guys, I'm fine. I have had asthma since I can remember, I should of told you then we could of been wary, I'm really sorry." He said to the boys with a small smile.

"There is noting to be sorry about Zay, we all love you and you know that but please tell us if you feel like that again. We don't want you to have to go through another asthma attack alone again. We are so sorry." Jack said with a sympathetic smile.

"Thank you guys so much, I love you all too." Zach said to the boys before being engulfed into a group hug. He has never been so thankful for the four boys surrounding him. They were like his 4 older brothers he never had and he knew he really would be lost without them. He loved them very much and he knew they all felt the exact same.
