Part 13- nostalgia

"Fei hung, I'm staying with you until you're discharged. The fact that a fake doctor came here and knows where you are makes me uncomfortable, what if it's one of the gangsters?"
"You don't have to, moo young. It's fine-"
"No it's not. It makes me uncomfortable when you're not safe."
"... moo young-"
"I'm going home to get clothes to change in to for 3 weeks. I'll be back in about an hour"
Fei hung just watched as he left the room, then slouched back on to her pillow. Moo young was making it hard for Fei hung to carry out her plan by being so caring and... cute. What's this? Butterflies? Fei hung felt weird again.
'I'm sick, that's all. I'm in hospital, of course I won't feel normal here'
The actual doctor came in
"Oh? Where did this young man go? I have news about his father"
Fei hung sat up
"What? What is it? Will he be ok?"
The doctor nodded. Fei hung didn't know how to feel.
"Mr.kim was in a better condition than you when he came in, he just had some complications during surgery due to his old age, that's why it took so long. He will be ok, and will be discharged in about 2 weeks"
Fei hung felt relived and angry and happy and sad all at the same time. Fei hung was planning to kill him but instead saved him, then hoped for him to die at the hospital so she won't have to do the dirty work but is now relieved that he's ok? Fei hung didn't understand herself. She doesn't think like other people, feel things like other people. If anything it's the opposite but she feels now like she's beginning to become... normal.

1 week later
That smell... what is it?.. it gives Fei hung a sense of... nostalgia...

Fei hung opened her eyes
"Ta daaa! Are you awake now?"
"What's this? At 7am, moo young..."
"I made breakfast! There's boiled rice, kimchi, boiled eggs, egg rolls, steamed bean sprouts. Do you remember? The first time I met you... 6 years ago..."
Fei hung thought for a second, then remembered where and when this smell came from

Flashback
The young boy stuck out his hand
"Hello! My name is moo young! Kim moo young. What is your name?"
The young girl said nothing, she just hid behind her long black hair. The boy grabbed her hand and shook it almost violently
"It's very nice to meet you, I'll call you... fei hung. Kang fei hung. Pretty, right? Why are you by yourself?"
The girl continued staring at his feet in silence
"Come with me, I'll look after you"
The boy dragged the small girl away from the little house surrounded by woods, unaware of the horror inside it.
"Dad look! This girl is all lonely can we take her home?"
Detective Kim looked at the girl and crouched down
"Where are your parents?"
Fei hung looked straight into his eyes, then back down. She had no parents anymore. No brother anymore. Detective Kim smiled
"If she doesn't have family, then of course we have to look after her"
The 11-year-old moo young smiled and pulled her around the woods with him
"Wait, how old are you?"
Fei hung looked at her hands for a second, then stuck out all her fingers
"10? Haha, you have to call me oppa now! I'm 11!"
They got back to the house where detective Kim prepared food for the children. Boiled rice, kimchi, boiled eggs, egg rolls and steamed bean sprouts, which they ate happily together.
