Finally the end of the day had come. You happily closed your laptop and pushed away from your desk. Your back muscles were tight from leaning over and trying to instantly tailor clothes. Your feet ached from what felt like miles you'd put in while still wearing the booties. You looked down and smiled. "Still cute, though." You said to yourself. You'd finished up at your office and were making your way into your building when you saw him.
You released an exhausted sigh followed up with a quiet. "Shit." Jihoon was standing outside the main entrance with a bouquet in hand. The snow fell around him a few flakes clung to his beanie, glasses and the black coat he was wearing. You stood there a moment debating if you should just walk back to your car and come home later. He'd seen you. You'd seen him and he knew you'd seen him. This little visit was unexpected and you weren't in the mood. It had been an insanely long day. The time on your phone told you you had a skype date with Jonathan in 20 minutes.
It had been months since the two of you had seen each other. Come to think of it the weather had still been warm that day at your office.
Jonathan had gone back home, stateside what felt like a year ago but was realistically a few months. You'd spent the bulk of his free time while he was here with each other. It was surprising how easy it was to be with him. He was goofy, which the world knew, but he was also a closet romantic. Not to mention he had the ability to incinerate your panties with a look. He would often have you laughing so hard your sides hurt to instantly switch and have you wondering if there was a puddle in your seat. It made your head spin but it was all apart of the fun. You'd managed to keep things interesting since he left and waited for you to make a visit. You were looking to have another office in the states. With so many artists having bases there it would be easier and help ensure you had more business.
You and Jihoon stood facing off. The cold air bit at your nose and the tips of your ears. His were already red letting you know that he'd been out here for a good while waiting. Neither of you said anything as the only thing that moved between you were the little clouds that appeared with each breath you released.
"Just hear me out." He broke the silence. You could hear the plea in his voice. He held the bouquet up his expression hopeful and sorry simultaneously.
You were unsure. The last time you tried to hear him out it resulted with you throwing him out. Several things were said in that last encounter very few of them nice. It left a bitter taste in your mouth just thinking about it. But that was when the wounds were still new and open. You'd had time to heal and had moved on. You could do this.
"Five minutes. That's it." You said quickly taking the bouquet and opening the door to your building.
Once inside you'd slipped your shoes off and replaced them with fluffy slippers.
"Have a seat." You said gesturing to the couch. You went to your kitchen, heart set on a cup of hot tea.
"So, can you please tell me why you show up on my doorstep with flowers a good 8 months after I left? Don't you think it's too little too late?" You asked moving around the kitchen.
Jihoon was sitting on the couch leaning forward with either elbow resting on his thigh. He looked away from you and gave a cynical shake of his head. "You aren't going to make this easy are you?"
"Like I said. Five minutes. Start talking."
You saw his shoulders briefly rise and fall. "I know.." He paused clearly debating on how to word his thoughts. "I know I fucked up. I know what I did was wrong, irresponsible and low." He licked his lips turning his full attention to you.
Your arms were folded and your back straight. Your could feel the tightness in your mouth and knew a single brow was partially raised.
"I'm well aware. That's why I left." You shook your head and rolled your eyes. This was going nowhere fast. "What I'm not sure of is why?" Your arms dropped and rested on the counter. "Why would you do me like that?" You paused. "Me, Jihoon. Me." You said pointing to yourself.
