Chapter Five

After the whole event with Sulu, Sam decided to meet up with the other two search teams. He figured they would all be on the bridge discussing their findings and most likely yelling at one another. He got into one of the lifts and pushed the button for the bridge, on his way up there he thought over how his plan was going to go. Everything was set and perfect, now all he had to do was cast one last spell and he would be the one who was in charge. The lift doors opened and he walked out,  He glanced at them and sighed softly.

"Did you guys have any luck finding anything?" He asked

"We found some sort of weirdo mambo jumbo in my room so aye," Chekov said, crossing his arms.

"There was a dead rabbit under my sink," Bones said losing the color in his face again.

"Well, at least we found something that leads us to the witch."

"Ya, but there's still the obvious problem of us not being in our bodies!" Chekov snapped at Sam.

"I just wish this whole thing  was over, I miss being in my body," Dean grumbled. Sam only smirked slightly, then shook his head.

“So,” he said nonchalantly, “any theories?”

Kirk and Uhura shot each other a nervous glance.

“I’ll take that as a yes, then,” Sam observed.

Uhura sighed. “We think...we think it might be Sulu.”

“Sulu?” Sam said, feigning surprise. “What makes you think that?”

“Plants,” Spock stated.

Sam blinked and looked at him. “Care to expand on that?”

“Sulu is the only man on the ship who cares for plants like they’re his children,” Kirk told him. “We keep finding plants in these...sacrifices, or whatever they are, and we know for a fact that the only man who could put them there would be Sulu.”

Kirk raised an eyebrow and stared Sam down. “Speaking of which,” he growled, “where is he? I thought he was with you.”

“He was,” Sam said lightly. “Had to use the little boy’s room. He’ll be up shortly.”

Kirk’s look of apprehension faded a little. “Oh,” he said lamely. “Okay.”

“We’ve got ta do somethin’,” Chekov sighed. “I don’ know ‘ow much more I can take of not bein’ meself.”

“Me too,” Bones sighed wearily.

Astrid and Catherine nodded in agreement. Dean and Scotty joined them a few moments later.

“How do propose we take him out?” Sam asked.

“Take him by surprise,” Kirk said. “And I hate to say it, but also gang up on him. Who knows how powerful he is...what else he can do...”

Sam winced. “Sorry, dude, but that’s a really sucky plan.”

Kirk started. “Excuse me?”

“Ganging up on him won’t work. If a witch wants something, they will do whatever they have to do to get to it; people won’t stop it. And there’s no way we can take him by surprise.”

“An’ why the ‘eck not?” Dean whined.

Sam smirked. “Well, because,” he said mysteriously, “he’s already taken you all by surprise.”

Everyone in the room froze.

“Sorry,” Chekov said after a while, “wha’ did ya say?”

Sam did not answer her question. He merely lifted his hands into the air and began to chant.
