Jade frustratedly pulled on her hair, pacing back and forth in her small bedroom. It's been two days since she last saw those blue eyes and they keep reappearing in her dreams. A knock came from her door, she snapped her eyes to it. "Who is it?" she asked. "It's dad." one voice came and then another. "And Raven." her sister said. She goe's and opens her door for them and then sits down on her bed. "Can you not sleep honey?" her dad asked sitting next to her. It's midnight.
Jade sighed and shook her head no. Raven sat on her other side and pulled her in for a hug. "Bad dream?" he tilted his head. "Yeah, I just keep seeing these blue eyes and then I wake up." Jade explains, shrugging her shoulders. "We've been listening to you pace back and forth half the night." Raven says making her dad chuckle. "Well girls I have work in the morning." he says getting up. "I love you Jade, try and get some sleep okay?" he leans down and gives both girls a hug. "I love you too Raven." he ruffles their hair and then turns to walk out.
"Night girls." he starts shutting the door. "Night dad, we love you." they say in perfect unison. The door shuts and that's when Raven speaks up. "I'll stay here with you." she let's go of her sister and crawls underneath the blanket. Jade climbs in beside her and lays close to her sister. She look's over at Raven, who's eyes are shut, but not sleeping. "Raven." Jade speaks quietly. Raven just hums in response, Jade looks away. "Do you think it has something to do with me?" she asks. "Oh Jade." Raven opens her eyes. "If it doe's then it'll have to get through me first." she says to assure her.
Jade nods not fully believing her. "Can we go see grandpa in the morning?" Raven stare's at the side of Jade's head then say's "sure." then she turns over on her side and shuts her eyes. "Now go to sleep." Jade sighs and wishes she could. She stare's up at the dark ceiling then her eyes wonder over to her window. It's dark out, darkness... something everybody is afraid of. The window slightly pushed up to make cold air come in. She squints her eyes at it, focusing really hard. The moonlight shining down in her room.
Then glowing blue eyes stare back at her. Jade doesn't look away just like last time. She look's at the figure... she thinks for a moment... it's a horse figure. Jade shrinks back a little and get's closer to her sister. It stick's it's black muzzle into the opening of the window, trying to force it open. "Raven." Jade whisper yells. The window creaks under the force of it being pushed. She elbows her sister in the side. Nothing. It finally fully opens and it sticks it's head into her room and stares. Jade's heart hammers against her rib cage.
The moonlight show's it features slightly. Glowing blue eyes, black muzzle, mane and tail white as could be, rest of it's body white as well. It's mane fell right in it's face, she couldn't see any markings. Jade's never seen anything like it, she was speechless. It almost felt like it was looking through her mind and soul. It stretched it's neck out, the horses muzzle now at the foot of her bed. It looks as though it's blowing smoke out of it's nose but it's due to cold weather. Jade doesn't feel afraid for a split second.
Lightning flashes through the sky, lighting up her room blue, there was no sound after it though. Weird? she thought to herself. She watched the animal try to stretch it's neck out more to try and reach her. She raised up in her bed and was going to stretch her hand out to it but a gun shot rang through the air. The horse jerked back making Jade scream. The horse neighed loudly as thunder rumbled the house. Lightning dancing across the sky. The horses eyes got darker not lighter. "Raven!" she screamed. She shut her eyes tightly. She was shaking very badly again. It felt like forever.
"Jade!" Raven shakes Jade. "Jade! wake up! wake up!" she yells. Jades eyes go wide open and she shoots out of her bed. She screams but her sister makes her stop. "Why are you screaming!" Raven yells again. Jade spins in a circle confused and looks over at her window. "Where'd it go!" she yells. "Where'd what go!?" Raven yells back. "The horse!" Jade yells. "Why are we yelling! and what horse!" Raven yells frustrated. "The-the-the!" she stutters. Raven interrupts her. "Get dressed and come eat if you want to see grampie." Raven walks off shutting the bedroom door behind her.
