Chapter 4 (:

I looked at my phone again, noticing that I actually was quite late. Quickly I ran the last bit of the path to the fountain in the middle of the park, where I told Austin, I’d meet him. Even though I was already late, Austin still wasn’t there. I turned around and looked for him, when suddenly a pair of hands covered up my eyes, making me squeak.

“Guess, who it is”, a really familiar voice said and I realized that it was no one other, than Austin.

“Well, I wished it would be someone as cool and sexy as some kind of male model, but then again, I think it’ll just be my new neighbour Austin”, I joked and Austin finally took his hands away from me.

I turned around and saw him fake-pouting. “Ouch, you’re hurting my feelings.”

I grinned slightly, pulling him into an apologizing hug, but only to quickly sneak the hat, he wore loosely, from his head. I let out a giggle and quickly pulled away from him, running along the path, while Austin started chasing me.

After a while I felt how my legs became a bit tired and Austin started catching up with me. It was only a matter of seconds and he was close enough to grab my hand, making me stop. But instead of turning around and facing Austin, I let myself fall on the ground still giggling like an idiot. I couldn’t have cared less at the moment though.

When I was with Austin I didn’t feel like I’d always have to control myself and make everything perfect. With him, I knew I could just be myself and he wouldn’t judge me at all. At least I hoped he wouldn’t.  

I felt how he threw himself next to me on the ground, finally snatching his head away from me again.

We lay there a few moments, just laughing and enjoying each other’s company, when the thought of something Austin would probably love, hit me

“You like playing basketball, right?”, I jumped on my feet looking at Austin quizzically.

“Yeah, I do. Why?”, he asked confused. I ignored his question and grabbed his hand to pull him up. Still holding his hand in mine, I dragged Austin along the path with me, heading to the basketball court on the other side of the park.

“Where are we going?”, Austin asked, still not knowing where I was taking him.

“I thought, you may like to play some basketball”, I told him, as we were only a few more feet away from the court. Austin’s face immediately lighted up and he started to walk faster.

Only then I saw that there were already two boys and a girl shooting hoops – well the girl was actually just watching. As we got nearer I realized, that they were people from my school.

The blonde girl’s name was Sarah Wright, and how I’ve heard she was dating Alex Constancio, the smaller one of the two boys with the dark brown fringe. They were both really popular in school and I’ve never really talked to them at all, since they won’t take even notice of me.

The other boy, with the tanned skin and short dark hair, was Alex’s best friend, Robert Villanueva. Just like Sarah and Alex, he also happens to be popular in school and have loads of friends.

They were exactly the kind of people I’d usually avoid in the hallways, just so they won’t get a chance to pick on me or call me names like most of the other so called Populars use to do.
