"Vote for the only choice there is." Cheryl's red hair flows behind her shoulder leaving her standing with her hands on her hips. "Me!"
Archie walks swinging his arms with care beside me.
We are both careful not to graze our hands against each other. "So prom..." Archie glances down to the newly waxed and now muddy floor. "Yah," I laugh kind of awkwardly, "we still do that around here?"
My laughter seems to have loosened the red head up. "I know," he chuckles. "Do you want to go. I mean," he begins to stutter. "I'll go with you Archie." I nod as we change our path and head to Cheryl and Toni's table.
"So the iconic duo are back together?" Cheryl asks reaching for Toni's hand. "No," we both say a little to loudly. Looking around I blush and correct myself. "We are going separately-together. In fact we are paying separately too." I hand my money to Cheryl.
"Whatever," Cheryl shakes her head, "just vote me for Queen."
"So," Archie leans his head against the locker a few feet away from my door. I breathe in a deep breath and remind myself this situation may be an exact copy of many past moments but it is not the same.
Forcing myself to take a step back I reply, "I'm looking forward to a normal High School event. No G&G." "No serial killers," Archie laughs. "Oh what will there be to do?" And before I know it I'm leaning my back against the locker laughing.
"Time to get to class Miss Lodge. Mr. Andrews tell your girlfriend goodbye. You are disrupting my class." Before Archie or I could dispute the claim Mr. C shuts the door.
"Bye Archie," I say before sliding in the classroom. All eyes are on me as I take my spot next to Reggie.
