Sweet Creature

Chapter 1

"Mama" A little girls voice was heard, filled with happiness and mischief. Those around the village paid no mind to the usual laughter of children, they rather finished all their work and went back to their families.

The girl looked to be around six or seven years old, her blue almost silver eyes shining, reflecting the sun that was high up, her chocolate brown curls bounced with every move she made.

The village was a smaller one, yet filled with children and young people, surrounded by tall trees, hidden from the world. Yet their village held many secrets, like any other did. Houses were small, yet families big, men worked together to bring food onto the table, while women prepared food and took care of the children.

Tall girl stood on the side, away from anyone, watching the scene unfold in front of her. She stood out from the rest, with clothes from centuries away into the future, her hair pined at all the right places. Her dress big and heavy against her body with the top that hugged her a bit too tightly. Yet people around her never gave her the time of day, but that was probably because they couldn't see her.

Her silver eyes followed every movement of the little girl, every step, every bounce of her curls as she made her way to her mother.

"Taliyah!" Older women scolded the little child with a kind smile on her face as Taliyah reached her and hid behind, "What did I tell you about running so fast my child?" She asked as she turned to look at her daughter.

"That I can hurt myself" Taliyah whispered, "I was just running from my friends mama, we were playing a game"

The older woman smiled down at her child as she cupped her cheeks that fit perfectly into her hands, "Taliyah" The woman started in a soft voice, "If you are playing a game you know it is not fair to hide behind me"

"I know mama"

"Then go ahead, but be careful" She said as Taliyah ran away after giving her mother a solid nod with her head.

The woman laughed as three kids ran past her following her own child, two boys and girl, children of good friends.

The girl on the side frowned, longing filled her eyes, longing for simpler times, for her parents, for her friends, everything seemed so far away, perhaps that is why she chose to come back to this memory every single day among others she cherished.

Memories.

The only thing she had to fill her time with, memories from better times, ones with her friends, ones that happened long ago.

For centuries now she was a prisoner of her own mind, thoughts and memories. On the outside her skin was grey with veins covering her whole body, her lips dried her eyes closed.

She did not know how many years has it been since she became like this, but she guessed that it was more than century or two.

Lost in another memory she felt her body stiffen, she felt the smell of something she yearned for, it was strong. She wanted to opened her eyes, but she found no strength in herself to do that.

Soon though she felt it, the velvet drop touching her lip, she parted her gray lips for the drop to slide down her mouth. She felt herself breath again just from that one small drop, not long after she felt someone pressing something against her mouth, it felt like a bottle, and slowly empty the liquid down her throat.
