Someone was pressing hard on my chest.
Lips connected to mine.
Then the compressions started again. "Oww that hurt stop it!" I tried to speak but nothing came out. My fingers and my feet wouldn't move. I couldn't move?
"1. 2. 3. 4..." they stopped at 30. A hand pinched my nose and air blew into my mouth once again. Just as I heard the panting get closer to me again, I suddenly could move. The feeling of needing to vomit was strong. I sat up bashing heads with the person in front of me and vomited up water.
"Easy there! What's your name?" The blond person said while patting my back with concern.
"Sky and I was with." No one. "Where's mum and dad?" The blond looked at me puzzled.
Suddenly his puzzled expression turned into worry. "No one was with you."
"No, No! Mum! Dad! They were here! Did you save them! Where are they..." The two men looked confused. "Where are you? Mummy. Daddy." I whispered with tears in my eyes. The blond took the other guy next to me, to the side and started whispering with each other.
Wait! Are they still in the water! We, we flew off the bridge!
I tried to leap for the water but didn't get far. My legs refused to move! I flipped onto my side and started to crawl to the water instead.
The blonde noticed that I had moved and just before I could get my hand wet again, he picked me up. I struggled, refusing not being able to help search for mum and dad, but my strength was no match for him in my state. He carried me away from the water edge and placed me in a lap of the other man. "Don't move! I'm trying to heal you."
"No No! Mum and Dad are still down there!" I struggled again but as soon as I started, all my energy left me. "It's not fair! I should have died! No! No! No! We all should have lived!" Tears flowed down my face replacing the dried tears.
Reality finally hit me, as my legs started to throb, my head ached, and I had no energy left.
"Clam down Skye. No one was with you while we pulled you out of the water." The blond guy said then looked up to the guy above my face, who had brown hair.
"Your left leg broke from the impact of your fall. You also sprained your right ankle." The fall? What fall? Oh! Yes! The car crash! "And your legs are pretty badly scratched up too." The brown haired said.
"You Just fell out of the sky? I don't know anyone could perform that magic. Where did you learn it?" The blonde one mumbled to himself.
I closed my eyes and with tears pouring down my face, I sniffled. "I don't know about you but I, mum and dad were driving to grams for my tenth birthday. A crazy driver hit us and sent the whole car over the side of the bridge."
"Hold up! How old are you?" The blonde butted in.
"Ten?"
The blond one looked to the other and said, "Cobie! This blow to her head must have rattled her brain, more than we thought. There's no way that she is ten!
"Oh, my god! I would have never guessed, Criss. Thanks for that." Cobie sarcastically said. I spaced out after the two boys started chatting away, and I started to take in my surrounding.
The lake. Wait! Lake? Where was the river? Oh my god! Oh my god! The trees! My breath quickened.
"THE TREES ARE PURPLE! WHY ARE THE TREES PURPLE! WHERE AM I!" I started hyperventilating.
"Clam down! Just breath! Breath Skye!" With his words, I quickly calm down?
"Why are the trees purple?" I whispered.
"What are you talking about? The trees always have been purple. What colour should they be?"
"Green! They should be green!"
"Well, Criss it looks like she has hit her head harder than we thought." Is that guy ok or does he like to repeat himself? "It is probably safer to take her to my summer house instead of letting her go."
"Agreed." Criss nodded his head.
Cobie turned around and kneeled to pick me up. Panicked, I crawled backward dragging my legs with me. The pain in my legs and head intensified. Tears streamed down my face and my vision became blurry, the pain was too much.
They took this opportunity to carefully lift me off the dirt floor. While I was distracted by my pain, they walked along a dirt path leading to an old house, that was overlooking the lake.
The house was beautiful, it was designed with the thought of the forest around it. The inside was modern but covered with wood, as it was the main material used to build this place. I was placed on a very soft and comfy bed, in a room which I assumed to be the master bedroom.
"Where have you taken me?" I suddenly said with ore which startled Cobie.
With a deep sigh, he turned around and said, "Where do you think we are?"
"Um... We are in Rosserville!" Where else would I be? I have lived in the same town since I was born.
"I'm sorry darling! The knock to your head when you fell, rattled your brain. We are at my house next to Lake Tirror! Oh, and you can't be 10 you look like 16 or even older." With this, he turned around and left the room. leaving me confused.
Five minutes passed slowly. The pain grew to a point that was unbearable. Suddenly a scream echoed out of nowhere. Who was screaming? The two guys came running in, alerted by the scream.
Then it clicked. I was the one who was screaming. The room started spinning and everything became blurry. The frantic actions of the two guys was a blur, as I once again started drifting into conscious.
Slowly, I accepted the black numbness of sleep.
