Thud!
My eyes shot open as my head struck the floor. I fell off my bed again.
Getting up and plopping back onto the bed, I held my head as a dull headache appeared.
The door flung open and a worried Criss came rushing into my room. "What's wrong! What happened! Are you ok?!"
"Geez! What did the door do to you?" I asked, wanting to go back to bed.
"Ignore the door are you ok? I heard a loud thud and came running!" he asked me.
"Chill, it's like eight am! I just rolled off the bed." I replied rubbing my head and then curled up in my blankets.
"Thank god!" He let out a sigh. "If you got hurt, I don't know how Cobie would have slaughtered me!"
"Wait! When did you get back?" I said puzzled.
"I came back yesterday before you fell asleep and just before Cobie went out." He responded.
"Oops, I forgot you came back yesterday, and where did Cobie go?" Criss only shook his head at my excuse.
"Cobie went out, he will be back in a week. Hopefully." Criss evaded my question.
Shaking my head, I gave it another go. "Criss. Where did Cobie go?"
"Criss went away and won't be home for a week. Just like I said before." Criss evaded the question once again.
"Why won't you tell me where Cobie went!?" I said this time, raising my voice a bit, as I got annoyed at him.
"Out! Ok! He went out!" Criss yelled, then spun around and started to walk out of my room.
I got up and followed him out. I will not give up until I sort this out.
"Criss." I sang.
"Yes, Skye!" He breathed getting annoyed.
I grinned, knowing what I was doing was annoying him. Running In front of him I stopped cutting off Criss, turned around and asked, "Where... is... Co... bie!"
"Not... your... business!" He replayed fed up with my games and waved his hand.
Flowers sprouted up from the ground and weaved itself around my feet keeping me still. He stepped around me and walked away. "Now leave me alone, Skye!"
"But it's fun!" I whined.
Criss swiped his hand setting me free.
"I command you to turn around and tell me where Cobie is!" I asked dramatically.
Shaking his head Criss ignored me.
"I want you to STOP!" I said with more authority than I should of, because in a split second, Criss froze mid-step, as if he was a statue.
I shrugged it off and continued, only this time, I wined and gave him my best puppy dog eyes I could come up with. "Please don't lie, just turn around and tell me where Cobie is. Pwease!"
Criss turned around and spoke as if in a trance. "Cobie went back to his home to the castle because his parents the king and queen are concerned."
"Wow, you didn't need to act like that I was only playing," I spoke nervously while trying to go back to my room.
Shock covered his face as he came out of his dazed like state and he covered his mouth. "How! How did you do that?!"
"What..." suddenly I got cut off by Criss.
"How, how did you do that! I can't trust you anymore, you lied to us about not having any magic. I don't know what else you have lied about. You could be lying about everything just to get close to the prince." Quickly overcoming the shock, Criss started chanting random words and symbols appeared around his body.
"Wow, overdramatic much." I laughed nervously and started to take a step backward.
Criss's chants didn't stop. He was taking it too far I was only playing!
"Calm down, I was only joking." I held up my hands, knowing this could get dangerous very quickly.
His chants still didn't stop they only slowly faded away and was replaced with the sound of leaves rustling. Slowly I backed up, concerned for my life.
The sounds soon overwhelmed me, and I ran towards the front door which happened to be in the kitchen. As I arrived, I found the room encased in green vines spilling through the windows and onto the kitchen floor.
Enlivened, the vines started to creep towards me. Shocked, I tried to take a step backward but, in my attempt, to figure out what's happening, I didn't notice that some vine from behind me had wrapped itself around my foot, restricting my movement.
Panicked I tried to shake it off, which only made it tighten. Another vine soon reached me and tangled itself up with my free leg, leaving me trapped.
Looking around the once familiar room, finding it covered in the same green vines in a matter of second. Surrounded, the vines made their way up my legs and soon my chest. In my panicked state, I started to claw at the vines that engulfed my lower body. In the desperate attempt to set myself free from the vines, I forgot that they tighten when you struggle.
Failing miserably at detangling the vines, I gave up, as the vines tightly covered my legs like a pair of pants. With all my energy depleted, I drop to my knees exhausted.
Criss's feet appeared in front of me and I raised my head to looked up at him. "I'm disappointed in you. We trusted you, and we helped you when U knew nothing. But it was all an act."
"I, I don't know, why you're doing this!? I was only joking! I'm sorry!" I spoked weekly.
"I don't need your bullshit anymore! "My face snapped to the side and a faint throbbing soon covered the right side of my face." You slapped me!" I said shocked.
"No more lies!" Was all he said before he turned around and walked away.
He pressed on the black earpiece that he now wore, and the device flashed a deep maroon which probably singled for backup. Not a moment later, multiple men in black suits came storming through the vine-covered room. Within five seconds a glass bubble, that had slightly transparent, but sturdy yellow walls surrounded me.
Chris started chanting some more words once again and not a moment later the vine started to wither away, to nothing but dust. All the men in black stood suddenly at attention in a line and saluted to Criss, ready and waiting for their order.
Criss answered with a salute and said, "Take the prisoner to the holding cells in the South wing and wait for further instructions."
Criss walked away and double-tapped his black earpiece, allowing it to turn a turquoise before talking, "Date 23rd of March 2026. The threat captured at 0837 hours. Captured for the suspected assassination of the royal family. Unknown and powerful magic. Name Skye. Gender female."
Criss's voice soon faded away and all I could see was his mouth moving. The yellow bubble then started to rise in the air, and white gas filled the bubble as the walls turned opaque. My body became heavier and my eyes started to droop as the gas thickened. After a while, I gave up fighting as I lost all feeling in my body and slowly letting my heavy eyelids close; I was plunged into silent darkness.
