"Happy Birthday Mommy. I miss you."

Issa sat there in front of her mothers tombstone. And she mourned. For what it seemed like hours. She began crying uncontrollably thinking about the last time she's ever seen her mother. She only comes to her mothers grave twice a year, on her Birthday and Mother's Day. Like a tradition, she comes in the wee hours of the night, around 1-4 am. She brings her mothers favorite flowers and her favorite bottle of champagne, to sit and talk to her mother about life, what has been happening since she left, and how much she misses her deeply.

Khalyn didn't know what to do but just hold her. Not even knowing that it was exactly what Issa wanted. What she needed. Khalyn felt special that Issa brought him to visit her mother, especially on a day like this. He lost a few brothers/friends/family during his time on this earth and the pain he felt in his own experience resurfaced when he saw what his baby was going through. He couldn't find the words that would make her feel better, he just decided to hold her until the cries settled down. He looked at the tombstone.

"You are a junior?" Khalyn said. Giving a light kiss on her  shoulder which made Issa smile nodding her head.

He loved to see her smile. it was so beautiful to him with her pearly white teeth.

"I'm happy I can still make you smile on a day like this." He said kissing her again. She sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around his neck tightly.

"You always make me smile.." She said faintly. As tears rolled down her face again, she spoke. "Thank you so much for coming with me, I always come by myself and you truly don't know how much this means to me having you here. Last time I came I told her about you. Haha.. around the time we first met. And today.."

"Today marks one year since I saw you." He said cutting her off.

"I love you." She said hugging him again.

Her grip was so tight on him it felt like she didn't want to let go.  She was fully in love with that man and never expressed her feelings let alone any information about her mom.

"I feel like that night....she spoke to me. She told me you were the one."

Khalyn didn't say anything, he just hugged her tighter. Hearing those words did something to him that he never felt with a woman before. He knew he was head over heels for that girl.

They stayed at the graveyard and talked. They ate some cake and finished the bottle I champagne before heading to the car. Once they got in Issa rolled another backwood while Khalyn watched.

"Why are you staring at me?" Issa said looking at him with those pretty brown eyes.

"Remember when you said today marks the first day we met."

"Yessss.." Issa raised her eyebrows

"Happy Anniversary." He said pulling out a tiny box with a bow on it.

For a moment Issa just stared at him. "Take the box goofy." He said chuckling at her. "If it was the real deal I'd be down on one knee, you knew that."

"Better." She said giving him a light smirk.

As she opened the box she let out a squeal. Covering her dropped jaw with her hand.
