Sal clung to my hand, and we both walked into school as both our parents cried as a group.

Several kids were in the room, and no matter what i did sal was always near me and vice versa.

I made a bracelet, and presented it to my blue haired friend.

"Look! I made you a friendship bracelet, it shows that we are friends!" I smiled, and placed it on his wrist.

His eyes sparked, before he turned and i watched as he made one simular to mine, before mimicking my actions.

"Now it shows that youre my friend too." Sal smiled.

The rest of our day continued on, leading to first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade.

We graduated elementary school together, and stayed together halfway through middle school but then...

My dad who had divorced my mom long ago was attempting to claim custody of me.

My mom decided it would be best to move, to a small town neighbouring a few others.

I stood by the car, watching my mom place boxes in, until i turned to see sal, quickly approaching on his bike.

He was fast to jump off, letting the bike fall and scrambling towards me. He looked at me sadly, grabbing both my hands.

"Tell me it isnt true, that you arent gonna leave me." He said, tears building in his eyes.

I lowered my head, tears dripping off my chin.

"Im sorry." I said tearfully.

He pulled me into a firm hug, and i returned it, sobbing into his shoulder.

"Ill always remember you y/n, but..." he paused, pulling a silver locket from his pocket.

It was encrusted with sapphires, and when i opened it there were two pictures of us.

"I need you to remember me." He said, wiping his tears and looking me in the eyes.

I nodded, and he carefully put it around my neck. I held him closely, crying more.

I heard his parents talking to my mom, and we parted, holding hands to see my mom.

"You two should take these." She said, handing me and sal a weird watch looking bracelet.

Instead of a clock, there was a small screen than when turned on and the other touched, would light up for however long you held your finger on the screen.

Mine glowed blue, and sals glowed f/c (besides blue or black.) We both had put them on, when the car started.

"Come on honey, we gotta go." My mother smiled sadly. I nodded, and climbed into the passenger side.

I rolled rown the window, sal clinging to my hand like a lifeline in the ocean. I leaned over, and pressed a kiss onto his cheek, and broke away when the car began to move.

He ran beside the car, holding my hand desperatley, but soon our fingers begsn to part, mine slipping away from his needy grasp as the car accelerated.

I continued leaning out the window, waving sadly at sal who continued to run after the car, growing smaller slowly.

Eventually, he stopped, breathing heavily and yelling my name. I saw him begin to cry and his parents comforting him until i couldnt see him at all anymore.

My bracelet glowed a steady blue, and i placed myy finger on mine as well, his lighting up though i couldnt see it.

What my mom didnt tell me was that you could feel the warmth from the other persons finger, almost like you were really touching.

I sat in my seat, before begining to violently sob, hand over my bracelet which now sat right next to the one sal made me so many years ago.

Ill miss him.
