He woke up everyday when the sun was starting to rise through the ever changing sky,
He woke up at this time so he could see the darkness breaking light,
He used to think it so beautiful, so worth the lack of sleep,
He found it so beautiful that years ago he decided to share it with me,
I could see why he woke up as the sky broke dawn to see such beauty,
He told me the sight enchanted him it made his days better seeing such a sight,
I caught up with him again to see another 6 am,
We sat upon the roof as the sun began to rise and he breathed a sigh,
I asked him how he could feel such sadness in such a heavenly sight?
He told me something I'll remember especially tonight,
" I've risen so many times and saw the same sight now I only see 6 am." ,
He took for granted the beauty of the sight ,
and now I sit here remembering the lesson that he taught with those words,
You're a beautiful sunrise you bring light and joy but some people take you for granted and may wish to see you no more,
You leave us all in awe of the beauty that you bring and I hope no one will see you as just another 6 amInspired by Erin Henson
