And she fades
Into every shade of gray
She's setting fire to her mind
She'll forever be blind
And the light it radiates from her skin
But it's coming from within
Her beauty does nothing to heal her soul
She knows she'll never be whole
But she tries to see the light
When everything she can see is night
She doesn't want to walk alone
But she remains unknown
She swims against the tide
But she'll never have a guide
She's breathing out of broken lungs
But she still runs
It's getting hard to breathe
But she's not fully sunken underneath
And the blue starts to sink to black
I think she's lost track
She's clawing as the water slips out of reach
Her breath comes to a breach
But no ones coming to pull her out
Her hope slowly turns to doubt
Her body starts to melt
And all the hate is unfelt
She pushes to believe the good in the world
But her hope starts to unfurl
Her lungs no longer hold
And she starts to turn cold
All the fire that once burned
It all starts to turn
All the warmth turns to ice
But I guess that's the price
To live in this world means to freeze
To run to the current beneath the trees
To look to the dark side of the sun
