"Hey are you okay," a tall curly haired boy said standing half way through the door.

I rubbed my eyes then looked up at the boy and quietly said "yes,".

"Well, you sure didn't look like you where okay," the boy said well walking towards me. "I'm Richie by the way," he put his hand out.

"I'm Eddie," I said quietly well taking his hand and shaking it softly.

"Well Eddie, welcome to the wonderful ward of Derry, Maine,"

"Wonderful?"

"Yea Eddie its wonderful here,"

"Well, Why is that?"

"Because I'm here silly. If I wasn't here then it wouldn't be wonderful,"

I giggled. "your funny,".

"Well, thank you Eddie. I am very happy to know that I am a funny guy.
So tell me something Eddie why haven't I saw your adorable face around my horrible school?"

My face flushed with red and I softly said "Im homeschooled,"

"Oh so you're one of those kids," he said sitting down on the bed next to me.

"whats that supposed to mean?"

"It just means you never really got to experience the joys of being a kid,"

"huh?"

"Well Eddie answer this. Do you have any friends?"

"Well, no but if you count my mom then yes,"

"Eddie no one counts there mom as a friend,"

"oh"

"So now you see Eddie you practically had no joy in your childhood,"

"I mean I guess I didn't. But what made your childhood any better,"

"Well, now you see Eddie my childhood was just as bad as yours. The only difference is I had friends and went to public school,"

"oh. Im sorry you didn't have a good childhood,"

"Don't be its not your fault,"

"okay then,"

"So Eddie where do you live in this horrible town?"

"I live over by the railroad tracks in the small brown house,"

"Your Ghost boy?!" he turned to face me.

"Who?" I said also turning to face him.

"Oh it just a name my friends I mean old friends and I came up with. We would always see you from your window but then you would always disappear. So we just thought you where a ghost. Thinking back at it now it's really dumb. Sorry about that," he started to fiddle with his fingers.

"Don't be sorry. I think the name is kinda cute," a small smile creeped onto are faces.

"Well Eddie I should get going back to the day room. It would be wonderful if you came and joined me but you don't have to,"
