"Eddie?" Richie said staring up at his ceiling.

"Yea?" Eddie questioned well sit up against the wall.

"Why are you here?"

"Well my mother told me I need to get help for my illness so she brought me here and that's wh-," Richie cut him off before he could finish.

"No Ed's I mean like why did they actually send you here?"

"First don't call me that and second you have to promise me you hate me after I tell you,"

"I promise I won't hate you," he turned to face the small boy on the other side of the room.

"Okay," Eddie took a breath in and then he quickly and quietly said "I-I'm g-gay," he then looked down at his hand that rested in his lap.

Richie didn't know what to say. He was shocked he's never had to deal with anything like this.

"I knew you were gonna be mad at me. I knew I shouldn't have told you," the small boy said covering his face with his small hands.

"No Eddie I'm not mad," Richie said walking over and sitting down on Eddies bed.

"Its fine everyone hates me now that I told them even my own my mother hates me now. And I get its wrong and not okay to like boys but i can't help. And I hate that I can't do anything about." Tears started to come down his freckled cheeks."A-and no one understands h-how s-scary it is to w-wake up everyday hating y-yourself more and more. I j-just wish I-I was n-normal."

He burst into tears covering his face with his hands once again. Richie pulled Eddie into a hug wrapping his arms around the small scrawny boy. Eddie didn't know what to do so he just cried into the bigger boys neck. It had to have been 5 minuets before Eddie finally stopped crying.

"I'm sorry," Eddie said pulling away from Richie. He rubbed his puffy red eyed and scooted back against the wall.

"Eddie you don't have to be sorry. Its not your fault,"

"But it has to be Richie. I mean I control myself no one else does I had to have done something wrong for why I ended up this way,"

"Eddie you did nothing wrong. You can't just change something like this it's okay to love whoever you want and if that means you love boys then so be it. It doesn't change anything you're still you and that's all that should matter,"

"I wish more people thought like you,"

"Me too Eds me too," Richie pulled Eddie into another hug. But this hug was different they felt something they both have never felt before.Eddie finally pulled away from the hugging wishing he could have stayed and hugged the bigger boy longer.

"Hey you didn't tell me not you call you Ed's. I knew you secretly liked the name," Richie said with a cute goofy smile.

"Don't push it Richie," Eddie said with a small giggle.

Richie walked back over and sat down on his bed. The nurse then walked into the room with both of the boys meds."Here you go Tozier," the lady with brown hair handed Richie a small paper cup with one blue pill in it. The lady stayed and watched Richie swallow the pill then proceed to check Richies mouth. Once she was done with Richie she walked over and gave Eddie his paper cup with Seven big and small pills. She then stayed to make sure Eddie swallowed then left once she checked his mouth.Richie reached for something under his mattress it was a zip lock baggie full of the blue pills.

"What's that?" Eddie's questioned.

"Oh they're just some pills," Richie said well putting the baggie back under the mattress.

"Well aren't  you supposed to swallow those pills," Eddie said crossing his arms.

"Well they don't do anything there placebos,"

"Gazebos?"

"No Eddie pla-ce-bos not ga-ze-bos"

"Oh well what are pla-ce-bos,"

"There practically bullshit,"

"Huh?"

"There a fake pill's that doctors give to us to trick are minds into thinking where getting better. But in all reality we're still the same way we've always been."

"Oh...Well do they give everyone Placebos?"

"More then likely,"

"Do you think they give me Placebos?"

"No duh they do If you were to take that many real pills you probably would be dead by now,"

"Oh"

"But don't worry Eds you can just not take them like me,"

"First don't call me that and second don't they check your mouths to see if you really took them?"

"You just hide them on the side of your mouth and than make sure you don't open your mouth all the way,"

"Wow. You sure know a lot about this,"

"Well I mean I have been here for awhile had to learn a few tricks to make it easier,"

"How long have you been here?"

"2 months,"

"2 months!" The small boy said turning to face the curly haired boy.

"Yea?" The curly haired boy also turned to face the smaller boy.

"Why haven't you got better yet?"

"Eddie you do realize that no one actually  gets 'better' here,"

"Whats that supposed to mean?"

"They purposely make you stay here. Its all about the money the longer you stay the more money they get. Its all just a lie to make people actually believe there's something wrong with them.  And when people believe there's something wrong with them then they start to believe they need help so they can be normal again. See now Eddie everyones a little crazy some people can just hide it better than others, that's all. Anyways good night Eds." Richie said the last few words before laying down and falling asleep.

"Don't call me that," Eddie said quietly before laying down trying to fall asleep.Eddie tried to fall asleep that night but continue stop think about what Richie told him was all of this a lie, was there nothing really wrong with him, was it maybe just maybe its okay for Eddie to feel the way he did for this boy he just met.
