“Tell me what really happened.” My brother Gabriel demanded.

Yes, he was the one who entered my room at the hospital unexpectedly. Thank goodness it’s not the other Mr. Clinton.

After another three agonizing hours in the hospital, they let me out due to my whining. I guess Gabriel and Marie got tired of me complaining about how bad the smell in there and fixed everything for my discharge.

So yeah, we are currently at our house, and my brother is making me irratated because of his consistent interogation.

Kinulit niya sina Drake about the incident sa buong biyahe pauwi ng bahay.

“I already told you, like thousand times, investigator Gabriel. Aren’t you tired yet of asking it repeatedly?”

“Because I want to know every single detail about how you’re almost get drowned when in fact you’re a good swimmer.” He spoke slowly while caressing his chin like he’s in a deep thought.

He got me there. Psh.

“Fine, pero last na to ah. At pagkatapos kong sabihin ulit sayo ang kanina ko pang sinasabi, I’m done.” He nodded and he made a hand gesture for me to continue.

“Pumunta kami sa beach house kasi first day of class palang naman. Nag-inuman kami like the usual at nalasing ako. I told them that we should go to the cliff and do our ritual. But you know me, I can be very so damn stubborn when I wanted to. So we went there. Hindi ko alam na cliff jumping plus high tide plus big waves plus alcohol is equals to hospital. The end.” I finished my half lie story in only two breaths. Awesome.

“Hmmm. If that really was the story, I’ll believe you. Your’re my sweet little sister, and I know you can lie to other people but not with me. Right?” He looked at me straight in the eyes. Bull. Why so sarcastic dear brother?

“Because I know you more than anyone does.” He replied in a matter-of-fact tone. And I gasped. My mouth is forming O like the one we usually see in anime when someone’s surprised.

“So now you’re reading my mind? Or did I say that a loud?” I asked him and he just nodded. Damn mouth.

“ Can I sleep now? Doon na silang lahat matutulog sa kwarto ko tutal very sweet and innocent naman ang little sister mo, hindi ba?” My voice is oozing with sarcasm, double the amount of his and I love it, take that brother, yeeha!

“Sure, I’ll be staying here for a day or two. And prepare for a brother-sister bonding the whole time of it ‘cause I missed you so much my sweet pumpkin.”

I gagged. “Ang corny mo talaga Gab. Matulog ka na nga. Shoooo!”

He just laughed, kissed my head and bidded good night. Actually, I missed him too, so so so much.
