Since it is finally starting to get warmer, I was able to wear some cuter clothes than I normally would. I honestly can't wait until I graduate and get out of Michigan. It is so freaking cold here. Our summer is just about 3 months, like what the fuck.
Most of our year is filled with snow and ice. Our winters can last from October to April. It's so irritating and makes me frustrated. My whole life I've dealt with having snow days, which means that schools are canceled because of it being too cold outside for students to be walking outside or the roads are too bad to drive.
Don't get me wrong, I love the small vacations we would get. Those snow days would be the times when Stokeley and I would talk the most and I would catch up on sleep. But even with those, I still feel like I've been walking around sleep deprived for so long that I can't even remember when I wasn't.
In the middle of my thoughts, I had just finished showering and getting dressed. My class starts in 5 minutes and I just now realized how I'm for sure going to be late. The building where my class is located happens to be far from my dorm, like a 15-minute walk.
Once I realized that I would have to run, I facepalmed. I hate being late to class because I always feel like I've missed major parts of the lecture once I get there. Then when I walk in everyone gives me undivided attention like I'm famous or something. They don't even pay as much attention to the professor. I'm the type of person that rarely comes late to anything because of things of that sort.
I quickly grabbed my backpack that I packed last night. As I was making my way out of my dorm, I realized that I haven't eaten anything this morning so I know I will be hungry during the 2-hour lecture. After unlocking the door quickly, I ran back in and grabbed a granola bar, a cup of fruit, and a water bottle that I had in my mini refrigerator. Just when I locked my dorm, I noticed that I didn't have my earphones.
"Just fucking great," I said to myself as I angrily unlocked the door and hurried to get my earphones and leave. This is exactly why I hate waking up late. "You alright Mori?" asked Savani with a concerned look on her face.
"Yup, as happy as I can be!" I replied with words fill of sarcasm. I shouldn't be this rude to her, but I'm just not in the mood. She understands how I am when I'm late.
"Well damn, I was just trying to check up on yo rude ass." Savani's attitude matched mine. "I know girl, I apologize. I just really need to hurry up and leave. I will catch up with you later." I ran out of the door and made my way down to the door.
Just as I rushed out of my room, I ran into somebody. "Omg, I'm so sor-" I began until I realized who it was, Demetri. "Yo, hey Amori! I've been wanting to run into you, I really need to ta-" he said as he observed me and smirked.
