"But Tonyyyyy-"
"No but's from you, kid. For the last time you are to stay in the lab until this party is over, got it?"
I groan and bang my head on the table. Great. Another 'night in' for me. But no this asshole gets to go out and have fun while I am stuck down here with Friday. I mean, Friday isn't bad, but talking to an actual human is good every once in awhile.
"Tony, you never let me out! I'm 18 for crying out loud. Can't I just have a normal life like any other teenager?"
His shoulders sagged as he let out a huff. Bingo. Perhaps my plans for sitting around were going to change. A smile broke out on my face but quickly fades as I see his smirking face turn to me from over his shoulder.
"Nice try, (y/n). I am afraid though that you do not qualify as normal. Have fun you two." He quickly stepped out of the lab, the cup I threw at him slamming into the glass door. I watch as he walks up the stairs to the party being held.
It wasn't fair. Sure everyone was back together after that whole Thanos thingy happened. Thankfully nothing happened to me, but Tony was gone for a long ass time. I mean, I had to fend for myself for quite awhile. Tonight was the "1 Year Anniversary" of the band getting back together and the world being restored. Goody me. Of course, I didn't get an invitation. I groan again and throw myself onto the sofa in the lab. Friday pipes in.
"Miss (y/n), shall I resume your recent Netflix show?"
"No thanks, Friday. You know, I think tonight is the night Imma have to take a rain check on the time out."
"Shall I tell Mr.Stark?"
"No! I mean, I think he doesn't need to bother himself with little old me. So I am going to just take a quick peek upstairs, maybe grab a little something, then I will be back her watching Netflix with my favorite A.I."
Without another word I slip through the lab and start to move upstairs. I make it to the dark kitchen finding the place completely empty. Outside by the pool is where all the action was going on. I could hear a lot of music and chanting causing me to feel a little knot in my chest. It wasn't fair. I was always locked away from the world. I've never met another person besides Pepper of course. She is the nicest person I know. Hopefully other people are as wholesome as she is.
As I make my way to the sliding door I stop as I catch sight of Tony talking with a bunch of people. Were those the Avengers he talked about? I saw Pepper also by his side, but they were turned away from me. Perfect. I casually walk outside, the music louder than I imagined and suddenly I was wrapped in a mass of people, unable to see an exit. Shit this isn't what I planned.
I felt a tightness in my stomach and it was getting hard to breath. I've never seen or even been around so many people in my life, it was all too much. Before I can catch my breathe somebody accidently shoves me to the side and all I see is the sky as I fall backwards, water encasing my body.
*********************************************************************************************
I'm floating.
No, am I falling?
Why is it suddenly super cold?
Gasping I take in gulps of air, my eyes unable to open. I look around only realize I have those stupid blacked out glasses Tony makes me wear in case of an emergency. After a few more seconds it finally clicks in my brain. The music was off, I could hear people whispering around me. Shit, I was done for now.
"What in your god damned mind were you thinking!?" Tony whisper yells I assume in front of me. I reach to take the glasses off so I can properly see him, but he pushes them back down immediately.
"Answer me, (y/n)."
I give him silence, unwilling to answer. This doesn't seem to please him as I am pulled up by my arm gently and dragged away. I feel the walls and realize I was being put back in the lab. Oh no. Punishment loading in three, two, one.
"Are you fucking kidding me!? Do you know the danger you could have put everyone through? Young lady I am talking to you!"
I could feel my body tense as i rip the glasses off and through them on the floor and stare right into his eyes with my own glowing red ones. Before he can cover them I whisper to myself.
Silence
Not two seconds later, Tony is standing in front of me, eyebrows knit together in an angry manner as he tried to speak but nothing came from his mouth. Soon I realized what I had done and broke the spell causing him to continue to glare, his arms crossing.
"Do you see what I am trying to tell you? (y/n) you have not gained control of your powers. If you don't think of what could of happened. What would you do if you accidently put someone into a coma or worse hm?"
"Tony I-"
"No I am not finished. Your actions were more than reckless and for that I am grounding you. Any chance you thought you had of going outside is gone for awhile until I am confident you can control your emotions. Is that understood?"
I can't believe him. This was torture. What was I an abomination? A monster who if released into the world could cause only death and destruction? Another part of me knew there was never a point in getting my hopes up. I silently let my head fall as a knowing sign of surrender. Tony says nothing more and turns to leave only to stop before he can reach the door.
"Uh, hey guys. How much did you hear?"

Not So Helpless (Peter Parker/Spiderman x Reader)
FanfictionSo idea from one of my other books, but I'd much rather use it with this one. Anyways, you (the reader) are a mutant who is held "prisoner" in the Avengers Tower. None of the other Avengers know of your existence except of course playboy billionaire...
