Not So Helpless (Peter Parker/Spiderman x Reader)

Part 4

I was in my bedroom, playing some video games when a knock came from my window. I didn't even have to look to jump up and swing it open, letting in the masked boy. I giggled as he walked over to my bed and plopped face down, pulling his mask from his head.

"I am exhausted." 

"At least you're getting in some good cardio?"

He laughed and moved aside so I could resume playing my game. It was Legend of Zelda. currently I was trying to beat Ganon, but to no avail. After multiple tries I tossed the remote aside looking over to my friend. His back was moving in steady breathes. Is this little punk sleeping on my bed? This wouldn't do.

I poked his side gingerly, but he only swatted my hand away. Is someone, ticklish? Not even thinking, I crawled onto his back, straddling him. He must have felt my movement because I could see his muscles stiffen under the suit. Quickly my fingers grazed his side in fits of movement causing him to roll over. Soon I was underneath him, his hands holding my wrists beside my head.

Both of our breaths were heavy. I could see a new glint in his eyes and a dust of pink across his face. The grip on my wrist loosened as his face got closer to mine, our lips almost touching. Was this really happening? Was the Peter Parker about to kiss me?

There was a knock on the door and Peter threw himself off of me as if I was some disgusting creature. It hurt a little, but I didn't let it show. Instead I turned to Tony who had his hand on the door handle. He must not have seen the previous occurrence. 

"(y/n) we need-Peter what are you doing here?"

"I uh, I was just checking in on (y/n). Seeing if she was ready to go back to school tomorrow." 

Shit I completely forgot. I had stayed home from school after the incident for about a week, hoping people would just forget about it happening. Tony only nodded, his eyes landing on me again.

"Anyways, could you join me in the lab? Peter can tag along too I guess."

I nod and look at Peter who just shrugged his shoulders. We both follow Tony downstairs into the lab to see also Bruce Banner and another woman.  She has two antennas connected to her head and strange beady eyes. I felt drawn to her for some reason. 

"Mantis this is (y/n). She is the one who could use some help." 

This Mantis woman smiled at me and grabbed my hands, her things glowing. A frown was on her face as she pulled away. 

"It is as I feared. She has a special power unlike my own. I can make people feel things through only touch, that is all. There is something radiating off of her, pushing my powers away."

"Wait, you are like me?"

Bruce popped in. "Not exactly. She is able to cause only emotions, while you have been able to cause people to do things against their will per say as well. You also don't need a physical connection with someone."

Tony and him talked for a minute. I turned back to Mantis who was speaking with Peter. A familiar tingling crept through me like before and I watched as Mantis fell to her knees, arms gripping her head. 

Everyone ran towards her, but Peter came to me. I shook my head, the feeling going away when he lightly touched my arm. 

"What just happened?" 

"I, I felt you in my head. But there was something darker too."

My head was down as I scooped as much cereal into my mouth as I could. After that little show, I'd stormed up to my room, to embarrassed to say or do anything else. What did she mean something darker? Was I a danger to everyone around me? Tony aand Pepper? Peter? A million questions were running through my head as I kept shovelng until my spoon hit the bottom.
