Chapter 8

Reyna's POV:

Piper, Annabeth, Zoe, and I left the bunker and headed deeper into the woods. The supplies we were tasked with finding were further into the woods. I gripped my sword tighter. I don't know much about the woods in Camp Half-Blood, but I knew that they were filled with monsters. I trust Annabeth and Piper with navigating the woods, and I hoped the newcomer Zoe is good with her sword. As we were leaving, Piper asked the other girl, Silena, if she wanted to come with us.

"You don't have a group, you could come with us."

"I'm good, thanks." said Silena. "I can stay and guard the bunker. Besides, I don't know the woods very well anyway. I always get lost."

As great as it would've been to have an extra person to help, the information SIlena gave me in a few sentences had me thinking. She has been in the woods, probably multiple times, and clearly needed to learn how to navigate her surroundings. It got me thinking...

"There," said Annabeth, pointing at a small piece of machinery a few yards away. " we need that."

"So does he." Piper added, gesturing towards an oncoming monster. The hideous thing slowly walked towards the object.

"I'm on it," Zoe took out her sword. "you guys get the metal." She ran into battle. We went straight for the object. Piper grabbed it and we heard a roar. I turned to see Zoe destroying the monster. The girl clearly had skill, and the monster barely stood a chance.

"She looks familiar." said Piper.

"She looks and acts like if Percy and Annabeth had a kid." I turned toward Annabeth, who was blushing a little bit from my last statement.

"Yeah, I had a theory that these people might be our kids from the future," said Annabeth. " I mentioned it to Nico and he agreed."

"Have you told anyone else?" asked Piper.

"Only you guys."

"Should we bring it up?" I asked.

"Maybe later," said Annabeth, "right now we should get the materials back to Leo so he can fix the machine." A loud roar is heard from the monster before Zoe finishes it off.

"Did you get the part?" she asked as she walked over.

"Yes. Let's get back." Annabeth turned and lead us back to the bunker. When we got there, we saw Nico, Will, Luke, and Gemma were already back.

"What took so long?" Will asked cheerfully.

"Ran into a monster. The woods are full of them." said Piper, putting the piece of metal we found on the table.

"Great! You got the piece!" said the older Leo. "Now we're just waiting on Hazel, Percy, Theo, and Frank!"

"Knowing them, it might take a while." grumbled Nico.

"I'm sure they're doing fine," said Will, putting an arm around his boyfriend. "What could possibly go wrong?"
