Bittersweet [Dangerous Fellows Fanfic]

Chapter 4

Ivy, Harry, Lawrence, Ethan and Nat went to the alley, and the pharmacy to find the painkiller Ivy was dying to look for after she lost it while running away from the zombies.

As they make their way to both places, they killed all the zombies along the way. Ivy felt no fear, for she only thinks of the painkiller that she lost and is determined to get it back.

"There's nothing here, Ivy." Nat said while panting slightly, since she has no time to rest as when she gets to their destination, she started to search for the orange plastic bottle right away. Ivy heard her, but decided that she didn't want to respond to her while still being busy to look for it.

Everyone except Ivy is a bit tired from killing and looking for the medicine, so they each lean on the shelves or walls that are near them, to catch a breath while closing their eyes at the same time as sweats rolls down to the side of their faces and to their cheeks.

Ethan turns his head to the left, looking outside through the transparent windows and door glass, to see if there are any threats that are trying to harm them. That is when Ethan realizes that zombies from everywhere, are walking towards one direction, and that is where the house is. He gets up on his knees and carefully leans over a bit more to see clearly if he's right, and there lies before his eyes, that it is crystal clear that he is.

Ethan quickly warns the others so they can be aware of the situation and figure out what's happening together. Two heads are better than one.

They altogether decided to go back to see what is happening back at the house and if the rest of them are doing alright or not. While they are on the way back to the house, they heard explosions coming from where they are heading, which makes them run faster to be there quicker. However zombies kept on swarming them, so they had no other choice than to keep stopping along the way to kill them, then continue their journey.

"Fuck this shit. I'm going over to the house to see what happened." As Richie killed the zombie in front of him, he runs away to the house only to stop in his tracks from the loud explosion. He gets even startled when he sees a huge smoke in the night sky from he is standing.

"Richie!- Are you- okay?" Nat asked panting as soon as she caught up with him, and now standing next to him. She lifts her head up to look at the smoke and realizes that it's coming from their house. Without hesitation, she runs towards it, worrying about Alvin and her friends.

"Nat! Don't! It's dangerous!" Lawrence shouted from behind, after realising where Nat is going. Nat ignores him as her figure is getting smaller and smaller when Lawrence decides to run after her, in case if anything happens to her. Richie then follows Lawrence from the back, while Ethan, Harry and Ivy look at each other then jogs to catch up with Richie.

While they were making their way to the house, Ivy steps on something and that almost made her fall onto her back. Almost, since Harry had caught her into his arms before she falls. They look into each other's eyes and feel butterflies in their stomach. Ivy broke it off as she clears her throat and thanked him before she looks at what caused her to fall. It was a pebble. Next to it, lies the painkiller she was dying to look for. She quickly grabs it and puts it in her bag. "The painkiller? You found it?" Harry asked. Ivy nods as a response. Soon, they realised that they were left behind, so they run over to Ethan and Richie.

As they make their way to the house, they can hear footsteps coming towards their direction, which makes them stop and be cautious of it. They hide behind a tree, and wait for the owners of the footsteps to show themselves. Once they showed up, Nat raises her arms, to hit one of the person using the log of wood she found nearby. She lifts her head up to look at who it is, and her eyes meet another pair of eyes, slowly she wells up with tears, as she drops the log of wood onto the ground, softly sobbing to herself. "A-Alvin?" She spoke. Alvin pulls Nat into his embrace and hugs her tightly.
