Bittersweet [Dangerous Fellows Fanfic]

Chapter 5

The night goes on, filled with the bickering of Richie and Scarlett over the fact that Richie and his friends get to stay with them along with Grayson clinging to Scarlett for he has fallen for her beauty.

"Stop clinging onto me! Pervert!" Scarlett yelled. "Now now, my Love. you don't want to attract the zombies outside now do you?" said Grayson in a cheesy manner. Scarlett groans and then rolls her eyes as she walks away, catching up with Richie.

"Why are you walking next to me? I thought you hated me." Richie said bluntly, without looking at her. "Of course i do. It's just your homeless looking friend here is clinging onto me. And it's annoying." Scarlett complained, but did not gain any attention from Richie. Scarlett continues to complain about it to Richie and Richie finally replies her as he feels annoyed by it.

"What do you want me to do about it then!?" Richie asked angrily, making Scarlett flinched since she didn't know that he would get angry. Scarlett clears her throat and looks away from Richie. "Tell him to stop following me and clinging onto me." Scarlett said softly.

"And why should i do that?" Richie asked, lowering his volume than before, as he feels bad for raising his voice at her. "Because he's your friend, he would listen to you." Scarlett answered, struggling to get away from Grayson.

"Because he's my friend, i let him do whatever he likes. As long as it makes him happy." Richie walks away, leaving Scarlett and Grayson behind. Scarlett scoffs and tails behind him, since she doesn't want to be left alone with Grayson.

Once they gathered back at 1-C, they started to discuss about what they have found and if the places are clear. Fortunately the places they patrolled tonight are secured, and Nat found a key while patrolling at the schoolyard. Sarah volunteered to keep the key and will check some places out tomorrow, as she secretly knows which keyhole it fits in. They ended the meeting with everyone leaving the classroom and go back to theirs to have a good rest and sleep. However, it's different for Sarah and PY.

"We are definitely sure that we are stuck in a game now right?" Sarah asked PY, for confirmation. "I am sure of it. No doubts." PY confirms. Sarah seems to be panicking, but it's the opposite for PY, as she looks calm about the situation.

"Why aren't you freaking out?" Sarah asked, stopping midway from wandering back and forth in her own pace. "Don't you see? This is all what we ever wanted, our dreams. To meet the Dangerous Fellows characters. Zion, Lawrence, Eugene, Harry- and your Ethan. Remember? You've always wished to meet Ethan. And now is your chance! To actually talk to him, to get close to him! And i," PY paused, while having a smile plastered on her face, "i get to talk to Zion, and get close to him. It is all i ever wanted." PY added. "Are you serious?" Sarah asked in disbelief.

"Yeah sure it's all a dream come true. I agree completely with me wanting to meet Ethan and stuff, but it's kinda not fair to others. What if we die in the game? What would happen then? We just die? Would we ever get out? And plus- it's a zombie apocalypse. You know i am terrified of them!" Sarah paused as she gets a headache from all the tension. She takes a seat and lays her forehead on the table. "Well usually you'd say you will kill yourself on an apocalypse, right? Why didn't you?" Sarah asked frankly, lifting her head up to look at PY.

PY stares at her for a few moment since she is quite stunned with the question, but she still managed to answer her. "I didn't do it because it's not as dangerous as i thought it would be, i mean we lived in peace for almost a week. There are also articles saying the apocalypse won't last long and since it's so advanced, there could be cures somewhere. They even said some countries have plans against it, so yeah that's why i didn't kill myself. Besides, now that we know we are in a game, i'm glad that i didn't." PY answered.
