I stood there dumbfounded, totally confused as my mind had given up on its work, leaving me with no way out of this terrifying situation.

I really really wish the earth could like swallow me up right now! Please? No?

Just as Noah was about to speak again, the door opened with a minimal creaking sound and Scar poked her head in. I swear to God, I've never felt more overjoyed by anyone's arrival.

She entered and gave me a cute smile. "Hey, I wasn't sure if this dumbass," she pointed at Noah, "woke you up or got you the right coffee, so I thought I'd check up on you myself."

I saw Noah rolling his eyes at her. "Yeah, he got the right coffee, don't worry," I said, meeting Noah's eyes.

"Wow, for the first time, he did something properly for someone else," Scar mocked him. "Proud of ya, cuz," she clicked her tongue, and Noah made an attempt to mimic her in return and Scar just laughed.

"Anyway, Syd, we should get going, we have class," when Scar said that, I nodded on the outside, but my insides were going like 'I love you for getting me out of this. Marry me.'

I hurried out of the room with Scar even though I heard Noah call my name. "Hey, are you okay? You look really worried," Scar caught my hand and asked.

"Yeah, no, it's nothing. I'm alright. Talk to you in the cafe after class?" I smiled at her.

"Yeah, no shit," she blew me a flying kiss and left for her class.

I was sitting in the cafe with Ally reading a novel which had zero percent of my attention. Never thought I'd be saying this but- God, what I would give for that class to go on and not be around Noah today!

"Hey Perth, what's up?" Matt asked cheerily as he ruffled my hair. I let out a soft laugh at the name he called me and tried to concentrate on the novel I was trying to read.

Matt sat beside me and pulled the book away from me. "Would you put the book down? What's up? Why do you look so off?" he asked, taking a chunk of his cheesecake.

"Yeah. She's been sulking the whole day," Ally joined in.

"I'm fine, guys, nothing is wrong," I responded.

Right then, Scar, Jay, and of course, Noah entered the cafe. Noah looked annoyed, but his gaze softened as it met mine. He was about to say something when I turned away from him and started talking to Matt. Scar sat on my other side.

"Hey, your bad mood over yet?" Scar asked.

"See, even Scar thinks you're in a bad mood! Would you tell us what happened?" Ally pleaded, and I looked at Noah, who was staring right back at me. His eyes, utterly devoid of any emotion.

"Nothing, seriously, I'm alright. Just a bit of a headache," I answered, avoiding Noah's eyes.

Light chatter floated around after a while, and I pretended to engross myself in the book that was in my hand as a defense mechanism so that I wouldn't have to talk to anyone else. Chase joined and greeted us as he sat next to Ally.

"Okay, guys, Professor Reed called me for an extra class, so I need to leave, I'll see you guys later!" I heard Matt say and in the next two minutes my book was yanked from me, again, and he ruffled my hair, "Bye Perth, see you later!" he winked at me.

I shifted my vision to Noah, whose jaw was clenched, and his fist was tightly wounded over the spoon that he was supposedly passing to Chase. He got up just as Matt left and was walking toward me. "Precious, can I--"
