He sits on the dusty soil, legs dangling just above the river. I stand next to him and he holds his hand out, I take it and sit down.

"So, Mia.." he says, looking at me, " tell me something about you"
"Well... I'm from London, I'm 16, I had a pet chinchilla called Oscar when I was 6, and I speak Norwegian" I say shrugging , and smirking.

"I new the accent was different" he mutters.
"What about you?" I ask
He ponders for a minute, swinging his legs. I get drawn to his tattoos on his left thigh, dark, colour, moons, and a bat on the right one.
"I'm 19, I have a parrot called Gizmo, and I can just about spoke English", we laugh, and I focus on the soft and deep tones from his throat, he was comforting.

We continue talking, swinging legs , as I almost forgot about the water there.
A close silence hangs in the air as I'm looking at my swinging feet, and I feel Grayson's eyes burning into my cheeks. I don't look up - I'm too awkward to.

"You know," he gruffs, and I turn to him, "you're super mysterious" he smiles
"How so?" I grin
"I don't know, you seem, almost hesitant, yet at peace,"
He could sense the fear, "but I mean, I can tell there's a lot more than just Norwegian and memories of a chinchilla under there - i see it in your eyes - they're complex."
I smile, about to wince at what I can sense coming next -
"They're like.. the ocean, blue, deep, beautiful"
"They're my mother's" I think to myself. I smile outwardly, and feel a warm, rough hand on mine, and look down. Back at Grayson, and smile.

"Hopefully I can uncover that mystery" he winks, and I shake my head, rolling my eyes before turning away.

A small vibrate comes from Grayson's pocket, as he holds his phone to his hear ; Ethan.

We get up and go in, as Ethan asked for us.
Lisa and My father sit at the dining room table, beaming
"Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow, Mr Parker," Lisa says, getting up to shake his hand.
"Indeed Mrs Dolan, great to be working with you" he gets up, and signals for me to follow him as we are shown out. I turn to Grayson
"See you around, ocean eyes" he grins,
"See you tomorrow" I whisper, a unfamiliar feeling arising in my stomach - fear and excitement together.

My father and I get in the car
"Nice family, right?" Dad says, starting up the truck.
"Yeah, I like them" as I smile out the window.
