Let's gooo

As Mia slowly got out of the car, her attention was drawn from the river to a voice calling - "Hello, Mr Parker is it?"
Mia and her father turn around, greeted by a slim, short blonde haired woman walking towards them.
Mia's Dad reached out a hand as she approached; "yes, Darren Parker, nice to meet you Ms.."
"Dolan, but it's Lisa, no worries"
Mia stayed glued to her dads side, as Mrs Dolan turned to her, "...and you just be..."
"Um, Mia"
"Nice to meet you Mia," and she shook Mia's hand, "let me show you around the property and explain what we need doing. " They all nod, and follow Mrs Dolan around the back of the house.

*Mia's POV*

On the deck, a girl, looking a lot like Lisa but with longer hair, was sat scrolling through her phone. She didn't take her eyes off her screen, until Mrs Dolan called out to her
"Cam, come and meet the Parkers. They will be working on our property for a while"
The girl, Cam, gets up and walks over. She looks perhaps 5 years older than me, and almost a spitting image of her mother. We smile at each other before Lisa says "make sure to remind me to introduce them to the boys, Cameron".

"Yeah Mom, you'll want to do that, don't want these folks thinking they're seeing double!" Cam smiles and winks at me , "they're twins sweetheart"

I nod , still focusing on the little sting in my chest hearing the girl talking to her Mum.

We continue looking round, and my father and Lisa talking about renovations. The voices seemed muffled in my head, my eyes glued to the stream running through the back of the garden. Must lead to the ocean.

My sad thoughts got interrupted by a shout - "hey there!" I look behind me, a boy jogging over , "mom, I heard you wanted me"

He seemed perhaps a few years older than me, 19 perhaps, with dark short hair, and a little stubble. We were introduced to Ethan, 1/2 of the twins. He seems sweet, and kind, and said he would be happy to take me under his wing around the house. A sweet offer I'll partake in.
"Now Eth, if u see Grayson, tell him to come and say hi."
„The unsociable git is probably playing Fortnite" Ethan retorts
I hear a yell from Cameron - „Ethan that's fucking you!" he laughs, raises a hand to signal he's going, and I smile good bye.

An hour later, after discussing with Mrs Dolan the renovations, she says I can feel free to go for a wander.
I take a leisurely stroll down the side of the stream, aiming for the car. Breathing in the clean air, I'm thinking about Home. About the relationship Ethan and Cameron have with their mother. And how envious I am that they have her. But I feel lucky for them, all the same.

Before reaching the car, I see a figure, crouched by the stream. A boy, similar build to Ethan. The twin? Was his name Gray, Grayson? I can't remember. It's not Ethan - they have different hair, this one also had a freckle on his chin, Ethan only had short stubble.

He got up, noticing me. He walked over, smiling.
"You must be Grayson?," he nods, "the 'lazy git who stays inside playing fortnite'?" He chuckles.
"So you've met Ethan I guess?" I laugh, noticing his husky, low voice. It was like Ethan's, but sexier. His shoulders broader that Ethans - little details making them different.

"Who are you?" He asks, as I realise I'm yet to introduce myself.
"Mia. My dads here doing work on the property. I help him sometimes" I shrug, kicking the grass.
I feel his soft hand on my shoulder, "Nice to meet you Mia. You must be the girl Ethan's been yelling at me to meet." He laughed.
I laughed.
Silence. But it wasn't awkward. It was like getting to know eachother, his eyes scanning my body, me looking up at him. Into his eyes.

"Are you off home soon?"
"Don't think so, not just yet. Trying to get rid of me?" I laugh and begin to walk away ..
"No I just wanted someone to sit by the stream with" he smiled, I gulped.

I reckon I could face the water with Grayson, and it felt like someone was behind me pushing me back to him. Thanks mum.
