Lee and Wo Fat went and finished their transactions with the jeweler, he took her picture for her passport. She was a little scared. She didn't want them to get found out by the airport authorities. Wo Fat tried to reassure her. They would be fine. Thanks to his connection with SangMin, they'd make it just fine.

Days passed and They got closer. She was there for SangMin when they went to the hospital for his procedure. He was nervous, he wanted it to work so badly. Plastic surgery could only do so much for his face, the tissue and muscles underneath it had been so damaged from the fire.

Lee held his hand while he waited in the exam room. The Dr. arrived and began his examination. If Wo Fat didn't get a skin graft and another round of plastic surgery, he would stay exactly the way he was. He didn't have time for that. They had to leave in a few days. He sighed heavily. There was no rushing plastic surgery, no matter how much money you threw at it.

"Is there a plastic surgeon in the Philippines that you would recommend or maybe one that you could speak to?" He asked, not wanting to sound too angry in front of Lee. Her ears perked up when he said the Philippines.

The Dr nodded. "I'll go get you his name." He said as he left the room.

"We're going to the Philippines? Awesome. Have you been there?"

Wo fat shook his head. "That's why it's a great place to start."

Lee smiled and the Dr re-entered the room. He handed Wo Fat the paper with the information on it and apologized. He knew he was disappointed. So was he. His job was to help, and he couldn't.

Lee brushed off the apology and grabbed Wo Fat by the arm. "It's ok Dr. At least we have another alternative. Thank you." She said leading his out the door and out of the building.

Wo Fat was deflated, he almost seemed depressed. Lee didn't like it. For now, it was just them. They'd have to make the relationship work if they were going to continue to rely on each other.

She wanted to know about his past, but that always seemed to backfire. Learning about people's past always put her in danger. So she decided to let Wo Fat keep his secrets. The day went on and the sun went down, his spirits seemed to lift a little when he came out of their hotel bathroom and she was dancing to the music on the TV. He laughed. Not at her, but she just kept dancing.

She liked making him smile. She enjoyed it. She got tired and stopped dancing and sat down next to him. She kissed him.

"So, how long have you had to live like this?" She asked.

"A few years. I wasn't always this deformed Asian Quasimodo." He said.

"Was it worse before?"she asked.

"Yeah. I used to have tremors and stuff. I used to have to take morphine pills for the pain." He said.

"So now it's not that bad, that means it's getting better." she said.

"I guess. Are you packed? We're leaving soon. The jeweler called me. He's got our papers."

"I'll get packed. I have to go get something from the jeweler now. Care to drive me down there and stay in the car?"

Wo Fat furrowed his brow. He decided not to ask questions though.

They drove down and gave her the money to give to the Jeweler, she took the envelope and slid out the car. She was in the store for about 20 minutes. Wo Fat got anxious because a cop had passed his car a few times.

She came out with a bigger envelope inside a bag. She handed him the envelope and put her seatbelt on. She pulled the envelope out the bag and put it in the center console and put the bag near her feet. Wo Fat looked at her confused.

"What's in the bag?" He asked, starting the car and pulling out of the spot.

"You'll find out soon enough." She said.

Wo Fat didn't like her secrets, but he had to tolerate them. Wo Fat made his way towards the airport. A guy in a suit took their bags out of the trunk and went inside. Another guy opened their doors. She watched Wo Fat hand one of them the keys to his cars. She let the guy hold her hand to get out of the car, Wo Fat took the envelope out of the console and reached over to Lee's seat and picked up the bag.

Lee whined. Wo Fat looked over at her and smiled. "I'm not going to look at it."  Lee walked over to Wo Fat and held his hand. The guys led them through the door and into the private airport. They had their papers checked by the clerk at the desk, and it was handed back to them. Lee was surprised they got through ok. She was nervous for no reason. The guys behind them followed with their bags.

Wo Fat led her through the doors to the private jet. Just big enough for them and the two guys with their bags. Lee looked at Wo Fat.

"Are they coming with us?" She asked, walking up the stairs.

"Just until we get to the Philippines. They are our escorts to make sure we get there safely." Wo Fat said leading her to the seats. She sat near the window.

The pilot came out and introduced himself to them, Wo Fat shook his hand. Lee smiled at him.

"We'll be taking off in a few minutes. Buckle up please." The pilot said before going back to the cockpit.

Lee was happy. She would finally get away from the hell that was her life in America. Although the she was a little nervous, she was happy that they knew English in the Philippines, then she could get a tutor or take some classes. She wanted to immerse herself in the culture.

Wo Fat handed her the bag and she could hear the pilot start the plane. The hum from the engines startled her a little. She had to distract herself. While Wo Fat was putting on his seatbelt, she took the boxes out of the bag. She held it out and waited for Wo Fat to look up.

He looked at her with an eyebrow raised. "What's that?"

"My solution to all our future problems," she opened the box. A gold band was in the box. "Let's get married. I'm over 18 so I don't have to ask permission. Plus...how's my dad going to give me permission in jail?" She said looking at him.

Wo Fat was speechless. "Uh...are you sure about that? I mean. I'm flattered but...how is this a solution?"

"I'll only answer that question if you say yes." she said. He had no clue how nervous she was. It took her a lot of courage to do what she did. Willing to marry a stranger, but that stranger had her back more than anyone in her family ever did, Wo Fat proved to her that he in fact wasn't trying to hurt her. She trusted him just like she trusted SangMin.

"Yes. I'll marry you. Only after your 21st birthday AND I get my plastic surgery." He said, taking the ring out of the box and putting it on. He leaned over and kissed her on the forehead.
